The_Osprey (7980) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 20, 2015
Cask at the Fitzrovia. Dark orange/brown, still, hazy, small scummy off-white head. Aroma is twiggy toffee, chemical astringency. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is rounded malt, wholemeal bread, light treacle, a little astringent, soft bitterness. Some pleasant subtle flavours and very drinkable. Good beer for the season.

Theydon_Bois (19481) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - SEP 14, 2012
Cask at the South Western Arms, St Denys (So’ton) - 09/09/12. Light chestnut brown with a small off-white head that soon thins. Dark malt dominates the nose allied to a little smoke. Malt dominates the taste, fruit undertones. Not a lot else to report! Medium bodied, low carbonation lending to a bitter finish. File under ’W’ for whelmed!

DruncanVeasey (8226) - NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - AUG 3, 2012
Birthday Feathers’ Owl-Drawing Crawl, cask handpull, Cock and Hoop, Nottingham, 30/07/12. There’s no escaping Cottage. Generous-lacing, dirty copper clouded at the edges. Metal-rubbed berries aroma, coinage. Typical yeasty sesame and red berry Cottage with an added lick of copper. Overly metallic. Tweak of nut. Like the other beer in this pub, didn’t finish.

[email protected] Pineapple, London. Amber coloru, small white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, floral and a bit leathery and caramelly notes as well. Flavour is fruity, wooden, caramelly and mildly earthy. Brilliant pop-in with 4 of the 5 casks being new for me!

berkshirejohn (6491) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 26, 2009
Cask at the Lyndhurst, Reading. Mid-brown with a scummy off-white head; aroma of apple and fruity malts; apple flavours too, with well-balanced lightly roasted malts; and a biscuit and toffee finish. Refined and elegant.

Cask Conditioned at The Bree Louise, London
Mahogany color, thin creamy head and nice lace. Good caramel aroma. It has a solid caramel flavor, followed by some chocolate and a hint of fudge that qualifies it. More chocolate and correct bitterness at the end. Good.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2008 [cask handpull at Lyndhurst Arms, Reading] c7 Fairly dark for a bitter, medium creamy head, some sediment. Smooth creamy mouthfeel, lots of malt, a little chocolate, earthy bitter finish. Went down easily, but pretty unmemorable.
