sample at brewery. Thin fading head. Very nice aroma and flavor. VAnilla, brown sugar and butterscotch. Sweet with not much alchol warmth. Good mouthfeel. A very nice beer. NeoHippie2 (1074) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - DEC 4, 2013
On tap. Dark brown pour with a light tan head. Aromas of sweet malts and touches of bourbon and oak. Flavor is malt forward with the oak coming through in the finish. Very drinkable and the abv is well-hidden too. b3shine (9339) - Indiana, USA - DEC 2, 2013
Draft to taster. Looks solid; a little light though. A slightly cloudy light copper with thin off-white lacing. Smells and tastes malty and nutty with notes of caramel and a bit of oak (and maybe bourbon?). Average on the palate. Good, not great.tmongoose (2504) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - DEC 1, 2013

Draft to taster at Ei8ht Ball. Looks good; a hazy amberish brown with off-white lacing. Smells good; malt and bourbon with a bit of nuttiness. Tastes like it smells, but not quite as balanced. Solid on the palate. Enjoyable.
on draft pouring a darkish brown color with off white head. the aroma of roasted malts and subtle smooth bourbon, hints of vanilla and oak. the flavor could have been over powered by the bourbon but its not. just not your typical brown ale, this one has a little punch to it...its medium bodied, It has a good flavor mix of roasted malts, bourbon, vanilla and oak. this was quite tasty. 10oz snifter on tap at Ei8ht Ball. Half hazy brown / red color. Thin ring of khaki grey head. Few dots of loose lace. When I tried regular Amos, it was a hoppy brown ale that I liked a lot... This is much different. Bigger body, very light carbonation, and a dry finish. Good vanilla flavor, light brown sugar, nice butterscotch. Nova says "Toffee". Really tasty. Moderate sweet taste, light good warmth. Awesome barrel aged brown! Barrel character is big but works well with the base. Nothing about this is painful or difficult to drink. Gets almost creamy at the very end... Very good

Tap. Poured a hazy dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted sweet malt, bourbon and wood aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Solid toasted sweet bourbon flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good complex brew. Draft - pours brown if not deep amber. Nose is butter. Sip adds bourbon for sure. Nutty with awesome mouthfeel. Boozy but fairly well hidden. This might be my favorite country boy yet. shoulderbroken (4256) - Tokyo, JAPAN - NOV 19, 2013

Draft sample (10.5% ABV) - pours deep amber with tan head. Nose is butter and wood. Sip adds bourbon, brown sugar, and toast. Lots of character. Burns a little. Nutty aftertaste. A little sweet. Stand out beer alongside the jalapeño smoked porter.
Tap at GBF. Dark red brown colour. Small golden head. Aroma is bourbon, sweet, fruity, booze mainly, but nice. Taste is little bit spiky but nice smooth roundness too. Bit of toffee and caramel too. Pretty interesting. Fruity. I like it.

Draught at brewery. Brownish murky color. Big whisky taste. Maybe Maker’s barrel? Don’t know. But clearly there in taste. Slight vanilla. Creamy.

Draught at brewery. Muddy brown color. Big Maker’s Mark bourbon flavor here. Combine that with some vanilla and cream. Damn good. Though it said 10.5% at brewery.
