Cybercat (6701) - Georgia, USA - OCT 25, 2017
Taps opaque coffee with a decent light tan head. Aroma features roast malt, cloves, a bit of woody hops and a bit of licorice. Flavor nicely echoes the flavor, adding up to a satisfying porter. Mouthfeel presents good body, fair fizz, and a nice roast malt finish. Black gold in a glass.

Tap at J’s. Pours an oily black with a small beige head that lingers for a bit. Roasted malt nose with deep, bitter cacao aromas. Dry and roasty on the palate. Body is a very porter-like. A touch thin, but good flavor. Finish is dry and roasty. Doesn’t really go anywhere, but alcohol is hidden well.

Draught at brewery. Initial dark richness and a dark pour followed by dark fruit notes - even blueberry.

on tap @ Party Town (Friday Night Flights) / Florence KY --- Aroma of roasted malt. Opaque black color, brown head that drops to a full cover, strings of lace. Taste is alcohol-laced roasted malt, medium-light fizz, and mild bittering. This is a very strong brew. Decent.

Leighton (23880) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 18, 2016
Keg at Shorty’s - Lexington. Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan head. The nape has lightly tangy dark malts, dark berries. Medium sweet flavour with more tangy berries, light earth, faint cocoa. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with dark fruits, a little licorice, hints of toffee. So so overall.

Block (3288) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - MAR 12, 2016
A dark pour. A smooth and sweet porter. Chocolate and caramel. Not too roasted, no coffee. It’s sweet, alcohol is masked well. Pretty balanced and usual.

Draft sample at the source. The beer is a darker brown with a khaki head of foam. The aroma has chocolate and some bitter coffee roast. Medium sweetness and medium bitterness. The roast is nice. Medium body and medium carbonation.

I really like this one. Really black and dark. Good rich porter flavor. I like country boy.

ContemplateBeer (2090) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAR 7, 2015
Aroma: A pretty good roast/chocolate balance; chocolate is semi-sweet and not overly bitter. Appearance: Solid black pour with a slight mocha head that fades entirely. Flavor: Semi-sweet chocolate is mostly up front; followed by more roast impressions toward the finish, which is semi-sweet. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, long finish. Overall: A fairly straightforward, but clean, porter.
