This was just put on when I stopped by Yogi’s so I ordered a five ounce sample. The payoff was a fine pale ale that keeps up the trend of Country Boy as a solid brewery who often gets things right. There may be better pale ales but not from central Kentucky.
Aroma / Appearance - A caramel gold base is warm with a wispy offwhite head. Citrus, lemons, and wet dewy grass sparkle in the air. A nice hop presence is assertive but not overpowering.
Flavor / Palate - A bitter hoppy texture sticks on the tongue. Caramel, citrus, and malty lemonade come next before a bitter finish that hangs in the throat. This is one of those beers that many people can do but is a great example of why it is a good idea to support your locals when possible.
Draft sample - pours deep gold with white head and camo lacing. Nose is floral and grassy but it could be the soap they use here. Light citrus. Scrumptious. Impressed.

Draft to pint. Looks good; a hazy deep golden orange with thin off-white head that dissipates into lacing. Smells solid; a nicely balanced fresh hop profile with a pale malt backbone. Tastes like it smells with with a solid mouthfeel. Enjoyable. tmongoose (2504) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - SEP 17, 2013

Draft pint at Zwanze Day 2013 at Holy Grale in Louisville. Pours a semi-cloudy golden-orange witha finger of white head. Aroma of pale malts, husky grains, citrusy hops, cereal, caramel, and some florals. Flavor of caramel and pale malts, some grass, citrusy and floral hops, and maybe some herbs, too. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty, dry mouthfeel. Nice and summery. ContemplateBeer (2089) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - SEP 22, 2012
Aroma of caramel and moderate citrus hops. Appearance is cloudy gold with white head. Flavor matches the nose with some lingering bitterness. Palate is bubbly and very soft. A nice beer.
