Not had this for years. Bottle pours copper amber copper with small white head which leaves lacing. Nothing exciting in the aroma really, a bit metallic, roasted nuts and malt, grassy. Taste is medium sweet and nicely balanced bitter. Lively carbonation and mildly lingering flavour. Not too bad

500ml bottle. Pours chestnut brown with a small white head. Not much aroma, but what there is is caramel and a little fruit. Taste is a bit harsh, metallic with caramel in there too. Ok

Top-shelf pick in the local Tesco. Dark ambercolour, average head, nice for an ale. Mild malty nose. Aroma is caramel, and hops. Flavour is dominated by hops, and some soft grass tones. Very nice beer despite its pompous naming.

Good malty aroma with a touch of a little flower. The foam is serious, sustained and it has a high carbonation. Good malt flavor with caramel and a long aftertaste of hops. It’s an ok ESB.
