On tap at Houghs. Pours a dark brown win a light brown head. Not your typical inky black pour. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, light though. Taste is sweet and the mouth feel is medium and not thick. More easy drinking than your typical RIS. swegepe (26) - SWEDEN - APR 24, 2014
Mörk mörk och tung känsla. Stor varm mälta. Nikotin och piptobak. Rostade toner men med sötma och behaglig syra. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 22, 2014
This one poured a darker brown wih A tanhead. Aroma was of licorice, smoke, and dark chcolate. Flavor was similar, more on the brown side, not deep dark roast, but chocolate and caramel. PriorL (3068) - Gent, BELGIUM - APR 17, 2014

APPEARANCE: pitch black beer, no foam.
NOSE: alcohol, coffee, sweet.
TASTE: alcohol, sweet, liquorice, mocha, vanilla. JoshAWaddell (36) - Allen Park, Michigan, USA - APR 17, 2014
Aroma of coffee and malts, maybe a hint of dark fruit. Pours almost black with small tan head. Tastes of malts, coffe and strong alcohol. They did not hide the alcohol nearly enough. Still, a decent beer. I recommend Founders, Oskar Blues Ten FIDY and even Breckenridge 72 for Imperial Stouts over this beer.

Strong and dark, with a faintly sweet aroma. Aftertaste reminiscent of coffee, great pair for a philly chicken.

Very complex aroma and flavor of walnut/pecan, pears in brandy, campfire, dried fruit with a hint of green olive, roast coffee and cream, vanilla and figs.
Finish is quite lengthy, and the overall effect is elegant, layered and restrained, while at the same time ebullient.
A marvelous tribute to the granddaddy of all Imperial Russian Stouts. ajnepple (6625) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 8, 2014
Small pour at Falling Rock (keg kicked). Black appearance, tan head. Aroma of chocolate, cream, coffee and roasted malts. Similar flavor, adding a touch of dark fruits, earthy hops and smoke. Smooth and creamy. CardsFan25 (95) - - APR 7, 2014
Dark pour with about an inch and a half of head from a vintage 2012 bottle. Very smooth pear, fig, chocolate, and malt taste. Great beer! BenH (3439) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 4, 2014
Bottle. Black with tan head. Aroma is full of muscovado, licorice, molasses and some dark chocolate. Taste is similar, licorice and dark chocolate that makes way for a very roasty finish. Full bodied, sweet and bitter. Delish. 2000th rate
