Bottle from Tesco. Pours black with decent tan head. Fantastic coffee and cocolate flavours before a big bitter licorice finish. This is really rich and delicious. Very close to perfection. Jut a touch of harshness on the finish, which might be sorted out by ageing. Iíll have to get a few more bottle to find out! harrisoni (18436) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - DEC 4, 2013
Cask at Pigs Ear 2013. Boozy too hot. Some intense dark chocolate. Quite whisky like. Ok but not my thing just way too whisky boozy. Some paper. Some choc. Jasond612 (282) - Phila, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 3, 2013
11/30/13 $6.99 cool looking expensive bottle from CBO.
Pours a dark chocolate brown with a big fluffy tan head.
Smelled mostly of dark fruit with slight chocolate and coffee. Taste was similar with hints of licorice. Mouthfeel was average. I love a good RIS and was very excited for this especially with the cost but found it average at best

Shared a cool-looking little 9.3oz brown bottle (#048498) with gregwilsonstl. It poured opaque black with thin but persistent tan foam, some sticky lace. Aromas of toast, roasted barley, alcohol, hints of raisins, raspberries. Strong fruity flavours: dried apricots, pears, plum sauce. Strong caramelized sugar flavours, toffee, molasses. Bready, nutty. Heavy body and full mouthfeel, below-average carbonation. Complex and tasty, but rough-around-the-edges, Iím sure it would benefit from aging. A bit too boozy. Lovely. Bottle at Lincoln Wine bar. Oily black. Big brown head. Aroma has chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is semi-sweet with notes of alcohol, chocolate, and roasted malt, leading to a dry, slightly toasted finish. bth122 (1547) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 28, 2013
Bottle. Orlando. Nice two finger foamy head. Nice big aroma of cocoa, coffee, and roasted malt. Creamy texture. Medium bodied at least. Kind of like a roasted malt/warming alchohol milkshake. Frothy yumminess. I wonder if Catherine the Great put down her vodka for good after drinking this stuff. Great beer. mansquito (6338) - Nueva York, New York, USA - NOV 25, 2013
New Beer Distributors, NYC bottle ($7): Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is raisin, roasted malt, sugar, coffee, and a pinch of booze. Taste is somewhat sweet, but not cloying. Not really much on the bitter side. Lots of dark fruity flavors, coupled with a light alcohol burn. (2012 Vintage). Nische (2196) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 21, 2013
