New Beer Distributors, NYC bottle ($7): Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is raisin, roasted malt, sugar, coffee, and a pinch of booze. Taste is somewhat sweet, but not cloying. Not really much on the bitter side. Lots of dark fruity flavors, coupled with a light alcohol burn. (2012 Vintage).

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2014 Lovely to look at. Dark and thick. Big alcohol. Its was overpowering in a few ways, nothing subtle about it, but maybe thats an imperial stout. Tan head. Very rich and malty sweet. This bottle had a skunky smell to it. Not sure if it was just me b/c I had a cold or it was the bottle. It didnt jive for me.

Looks like motor oil. Smells like alcohol. Not very balanced. Overly hot. Thanks Seymour.

Bottle. Black body, big beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, raisins. Taste is heavy roasted, with plums, raisins, cocoa, red fruits. Good thick body. A nice strong coffee touch at the finish seals a good taste experience, with a roasty malt bitter aftertaste. This beer was actually a lot better than I expected.

Dark chocolate aroma, slightly bitter. Drank out of bottle, nice design though. Pear taste and darker woodiness. Smooth to the palate, no filmy aftertaste

[Cask at Cask Days 2013.] Beer #17 of the fest. Pours black with ruby hues and a spare bubbly tan head. Big roasty aroma along with darkf ruit, some alcohol, light hops, coffee and chocolate. Big flavour follows the aroma, with roasted malt, coffee and chocolate, and ends with a big boozy roasty finish that is almost harsh. Average bodied, syrupy mouthfeel. Pretty good but not as good as expected, probably better in the bottle.
