Black color, with generous brownish compact head. The aroma is modern, the resiny hops seem to prevail over the light roastiness; also light biscuit touch. Good mouthfeel, not too thick, rather dry, with high carbonation; very good flavor of roasted malt, dark chocolate, some cookies, coffee, spices; very strong bitterness, with a resiny long final; moderate alcohol perception; overall it also has a very light fruity vein.
I didnít expect so much, but they really did a good work!
Bottle at home, from BOE, 13/04/13. Bottle #122,815 of 210,000.
Mid black with a big frothy tan head that retains well.
Nose is roast malt, molasses, dark treacle toffee, cocoa powder, brown sugars.
Taste comprises, dark roast malts, touch of booze, chocolate, dark treacle toffee, light soapy notes.
Full bodied, soft carbonation, pitched perfectly, makes for fairly effortless drinking of such a big beer!
Overall a more than decent offering, looks great, feels great, the flavour profile is solid enough - the alcohol is well disguised and the feel on the palate is first rate. Iíd take this one again any day! rlgk (18847) - GŲteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 1, 2012

Cask at Pigs Ear 2013. Boozy too hot. Some intense dark chocolate. Quite whisky like. Ok but not my thing just way too whisky boozy. Some paper. Some choc.

Bottle, 10%. Very dark brown with tiny head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, caramel and bread. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, bread, medium sweet, dusty, hop, little liquorice and a little bitter. Oakes (17274) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 6, 2012
Nice and muddy dark brown, albeit without much head. the aroma is deep, fruitiy with an almost cedary spiciness. The body is fairly full, though that only makes it moderate by modern impy standards. The flavours are rich and roasty with an underlying fruitiness. Dry, woody, hoppy finish with a healthy amount of roast and some alcohol late. jtclockwork (16470) - , New Jersey, USA - JAN 11, 2012
Bottle. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of molasses, sweet milk chocolate, espresso coffee, dry roasted chocolate malt and vanilla. Some black licorice notes linger. A little light on the palate, but nice creamy texture with a slightly dry roast finish.
