UPDATED: DEC 24, 2015 Suffering at the tail end of a cold, I’ve been asked to keep my distance from the Christmas party crowds this year, leaving me home alone briefly in the company of myself and good brews. Starting the evening is a 2013 Cézanne Saison, a beautiful orange marmalade colored brew with a reasonably thick white head, and a lacing that leaves behind a silhouette of a shallow mountain range - something you might see on a road trip through Arizona. The aroma is very fresh, dripping with fresh squeezed tangerine and orange, and a bit of whipped cream, infused with vanilla bean. It’s deep, accented with alcohol, and even a peppery touch. The flavor, I think, has benefitted from a touch of aging, taking away what might have been excessive strength and sharpness, and replacing it with a well aged, well tamed citrus profile. It reminds me much of Stille Nacho, but gentler and quieter. Still, it is a great brew for the winter, when we celebrate the sweet sugars of citrus, from orange to persimmon, and a great brew for drinking while in the last throes of a cold. scooterbub (1068) - Lander, Wyoming, USA - APR 5, 2015
August 28th, 2013 - The rhyming and dulcet sounding Cézanne Saison is a sweet and perky brew. Candied and gingered apricot slices push the nose, giving off the profile of a well mixed Arnold Paler. But the taste is acrid and bitter, like accidentally spritzing the tongue with a hair spray. Too bright, too acidic, not unlike licking a battery, somewhere the taste flops where the aroma promised something sweet. 6/3/2/2/7
22 ounce bottle. Pours a nice, hazy gold with a one inch white head that slowly collapses. Taste is of tart apricot, yeast, wheat, grass, lemon and some malt. Similar aroma. Has a nice, wet body, with a sour and fruity finish. Lots of carbonation. Overall a very easy drinking beer, where the alcohol isn’t present. djd07 (15663) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUN 12, 2014
Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a clear orange with small frothy white head. The aroma is funk and apricot. Thin mouthfeel with dry funk, oak, and light apricot. Easy to drink, decent. EdInSaltLake (748) - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - MAY 27, 2014

Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy orange-golden pour with thin to no white head, aroma brought notes of nice soft apricot, peach, stone fruit with a hint of slight lemon, biscuit, hints of grape and apple, slight herbs, spices, touch of bready malts. Taste is a mix of slightly tart apricot, peach and pear, hints of grape, slight apple, hints of biscuit, bread, slight spice and herbal notes, finishing fairly sweet, slightly tart with the apricot. Pretty decent on tap. Ratman197 (15468) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - OCT 30, 2013

A - pours hazy orange amber with low head. No real lacing. S - aromas of citrus (cuties), tang!, brown sugar, yeast, strong bretts. Really nice. M - bright front to a thicker fuller end. Average carb. Full palate. End bitters as it warms. T - bretts come on strong when first opened but mellow quickly. Orange fruit with pith, grasses, yeast, bretts, hay, light metallic notes.
