Sweet and smokey aroma with hints of molasses and raison. Clear carmel colored, whithe head. A little too fizzy and thin, but with nice sweet malt flavors and a little more of that smoke. More malt accented and stronger than other plain ol’ amber ales. I think this beer has more of a Scottish heritage rather than Irish.
Flight at the source, during ck1 birthday trip. Sweet malts. Fairly standard for style. Shrug? 13 boozedude (2229) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - DEC 10, 2013

UPDATED: SEP 4, 2013 Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a white ring. Aroma of roasted malts, with dark fruits, wood, and a bit of hops. Taste is light, with malt, brown sugar, yeast, hops. Lingering hoppy malt that ends watery. Not bad. thegreenrooster (4626) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - JAN 23, 2013
Pour is a cloudy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a nice rich caramel malt with earthy tones. Flavor is some sweet malt with a bit of toffee pudding. Some earthy malt is left after the swallow. This is more of a brown ale but who’s counting? Still pretty decent for a style I’m not all that excited about. jandd1983 (4680) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - SEP 24, 2012
Sampled at the Artisans Craft Beer Festival 2012. It poured an amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was of malt, some sweetness and a little caramel. The taste was the same as the aroma with a hint more maltiness with a little chocolate and some sweetness.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, clear orange/red pour with big fizzy white head, when settled, aroma brought notes of lots of caramel, some slight earth, slight spice and floral notes, hints of a husky grain as well. Taste is lots of sweet caramel dominating, some slight floral and husky notes, finishing fairly sweet. Eh. That1Guy (2240) - Colorado, USA - JUN 20, 2012
Poured out of a 12 oz bottle. Brownish-orange color with a bit of a head. Has potential, but oxidized as hell. Must try fresh. RobertDale (6976) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - DEC 4, 2011

Bottle @ home. Dark reddish brown appearance with a small off white head. Toffee, caramel malty, earthy hoppy aroma. Fairly rich toffee, caramel, sweet malty, mild earthy hoppy flavor. Pretty rich flavor. tennessejed420 (940) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 30, 2011
bottle pours a clear, dark hued red with off white head. Aroma is caramel, sweet hay, some butter. Medium bodied, very smooth, creamy feeling. Flavor is big and malty, caramel, buttered toast, with a touch of hops on the finish. I found it quite nice.
