Overall great taste. There is a lot of wood, in the flavor. The tangy pinot barrel comes through as well quite refreshingly. The alcohol creeps up on you and is well hidden. The only reason this beer got a below 4 rating is because the Cork launched off the bottle after I pulled the cage. They need to work on their bottle conditioning or go to a full forced CO2 system to prevent this.
750ml bottle #143. Pours out a dark amber topped with a mahogany head. Nose is pit fruit spice caramel tobacco and some wood. Taste is as the nose with a nice toffee sweetness wood pit fruit and a good little spice note. cubs (10740) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 17, 2014
Bottle @ home, thanks to arminjewell for sharing! Pours a kind of murky, reddish orange appearance with a light brown head. Some oxidation. Bitter, piney hops in the nose have faded a bit. Some dark fruits, caramel, and toffee in the nose as well. Good carbonation. Some meaty notes. Dark caramel, chewy malts. Plum, fig, some paper. Kind of a fun beer. arminjewell (9727) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAY 17, 2014

Light haze on this amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and fairly dry. Mild carbonation. Dark toffee malt, a little spice. Nice touches of tangy red wine and light barrel induced vanilla. Finishes semi dry with a little more spice that goes on in to the aftertaste. Comes together very well indeed but could perhaps do with a little aging.
Bottle at home with friends. Pour is murky brown with a small tan head and decent lacing. Big raisiny, toffee, dark fruity, caramelly, figgy, red wine, and oaky aroma. Taste is stale bread, slightly hoppy, grapefruity, red grapes, a touch oxidized, sherry, cherries, toffee, and caramel. Medium body with medium carbonation. A bit aged, but pretty good.

Poured from a 750ml bottle. The alcohol is noticeable. Rich malty Barleywine. Leathery, berries, toffee, the barrel is soft. Nice beer. Ibrew2or3 (8912) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JUN 9, 2013
Big thanks to Gription79 for the share. It pours with a clear copper body supporting a near white head of foam. The aroma offers up raisins, malty sugar sweetness and some resiny vague sort of hoppiness. The taste starts with resiny hops that seem almost muted spicy cedar wood. It then moves into thick malts and then a thin raisin note mixed with malt sweetened citrus. Nice where the big ABV is well hidden. Sledutah (7976) - Utah, USA - MAY 29, 2013

Clear amber with a small beige head and some lacing. Aroma and tastes of toasted malts, fruit and hot alcohols
OK, the hot alcohols took away from the rest of the beer.
2011 bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a medium beige head. A sweet dusty nose with some barrel. The flavor is rich fruit, very dry throughout, some tobacco and darker fruit. Very mellow. Interesting. EdInSaltLake (748) - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - MAY 26, 2013
Citrus hop aroma. Sweet, light caramel, a little bready malt flavor, with fruity/spicy hops.
