Thanks for sharing, GT. Flat. Murky amber pour with no head. Nose is caramel, cardboard, wood, and water. Nut shells, pepper, and hints of dark fruit. Flavor is kind of bitter. Lots of nut shells and cardboard. Caramel, water, wood, and hints of dark fruit.
22oz thick as hell dark red waxed bomber, picked up at Tomís Farms Cheese and Wine for a frighteningly expensive price, pours with a clear deep amber ruby red body that supports just a few small bubbles. The aroma is sweet with prunes, molasses, brown sugar and nuttiness and then getting into boozy bourbon, vanilla and a dash of coconut. The taste starts smooth soft and sweet and quickly gets into sweet prunes and dates covered in molasses. To midway booziness rimmed softly by vanilla and smooth bourbon murmur their way to the surface. At spots modest spicy oak is noticed. This works for me. At times itís smooth and nectar like and then itís boozy and spicy with oak. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 24, 2013
651mL red wax. $15. Flat low haze tea red. Richer caramel nose, malty, richer fumey barrel. Mild seasoned tomato. Taste is dusty, sharply bitter, cardboard and paper. Harsh, astringent. Sticky background behind paper.
