Hop Nectar is a semi-sweet metheglin mead that is crafted with 100% raw Ohio wildflower honey, water, and yeast. This traditional mead is then dry hopped with Cascade Hops prior to bottling for a perfectly balanced profile. Ohio wildflower honey provides the perfect platform for showcasing the king of American hops.

750 ml corked bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The mead is a still, pale yellow. The aroma has sweet watermelon rind (the white part), pine, and resinous pinesap notes. Taste is sweet and fruity. I get a good deal of melon rind out of this mead. Clean and subtle in its characteristics. The mead is not what I was expected, and I’m pretty pleased with it. Very nice overall. My opinion does not align with the ratings of it to date.

FROTHINGSLOSH (8267) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 27, 2016
Sampled at the meadery this mead poured a medium yellow-gold color. The aroma was sweetish with touches of perfume, medicine and papaya. The flavor was semi sweet with a hint of tannin, ginger, mild bitterness and a hint of hops. Long finish with growing tannin. Moderately full bodied. Disappointing.

Aromas of rotten melon, Banana Runts, rain-soaked soggy wild flowers. Clear pale gold. Some sweetness initially, weirdly floral, tastes like old musty applesauce, some white wine grape maybe. Light bodied. Gross.

750ml bottle. Definite cascade hops on the nose, that nice earthiness and herbal marmalade character.

JaBier (8396) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - APR 7, 2014
Sample at the Meadery on 4/5/14. Clear blanc in color with no head and no legs. Aroma of mint, pine and honey. Flavor starts with honey sweetness, quickly moving to a piney and grassy hop finish.

Dogbrick (14287) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - AUG 11, 2013
Sample at the tasting room. Pours a crystal clear pale yellow color with slippery legs on the glass. Aroma of citrus and honey. Full-bodied with flavors of dank hops, cinnamon and honey. The finish is fruity and sweet with a mellow hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle sample at the 9th Annual Summertime Brews Festival, Greensboro, 7/13/13. Pours a clear golden color with strong legs. Aroma of big citrus hops, grapefruit, honey. The taste is strong citrus hops with a honey finish. Medium bodied.

rbrazell (1763) - Florida, USA - JUN 8, 2013
Bottle at Fermentation. Very light clear yellow pour. Up front citrus and pine hoppiness with dry honey. Slightly hoppy flavor with sweet honey ending on a bitter dry note. Pretty good.

From a bottle at the vintage estate. Clear water looks. Sweet fruity mild perfume. Taste is bitter, I never liked the effect that hops have on mead, ruins it. No nice. Could use some manners. Bitter medicine. Leave hops for the beer dude.

onceblind (10855) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 23, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 26, 2013 Clear very light yellow hue. Aroma of white wine and grassy hops. Flavor is kinda sharp and bitter with lots of grass and herbal tones, and a subtle honey sweetness that sorta comes across as white wine.
