"I’d definitely call this a wild ale, not a strong. It’s like a Consecration light. Cab barreled, winey, tart but not quite sour. Hints of sweetness, oak, leather. Pretty nice brew." blipp (9501) - La Mesa, California, USA - AUG 4, 2013
Draft. Beautiful reddish purple with no head. Cabernet grapes. That’s it. If you served this to me blind I would assume it was just some shitty wine. I don’t get it. GT (10001) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 17, 2013
Tap at Haven gastropub in Pasadena. Clear deep purple pour. Purple to pink weak foam. Pretty. Nose is raspberry popsicle. Taste is raspberry tea herbal, fruity popsicle, cranberry ocean spray, mixed drink cranberry cocktail. Tasty but barely beer in profile. Alcohol is high given the light berry flavor. Decent grape tannin provides a dusty dry finish. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - APR 15, 2012
Draft at Obriens. I liked the concept on this one, but it ended up being not beery enough for me. It pours dark red with a pinkish head. The aroma has a ton of sweet red berry fruit. Mostly grapes obviously. The flavor was the same. Very sweet and grapey with some malt flavor that seemed out of place. Tasty enough, and certainly brewed well. Just not my thing. I give them credit for an unusual brew though. StefanSD (2451) - Ouray, Colorado, USA - FEB 19, 2012
Draft at o’briens. Pours a purple color with a small pink head. Aroma of red wines and grapes. Taste is loaded with sweeet red fruits but just a hint of the wines alluded to in the nose. Also in the taste I get lots of sweet tarts and just a bit of something tangy/funky. The palate is full and smooth with lively carbonation. Finishes long with lingering tart berries. Overall: very tasty. Rated this on my cell, I imagine I screwed up sometthing, will fix later.

On tap at the Bruery Provisions. Poured a reddish purple color with a pinkish colored head. Aromas of grapes, vinous, and berries. Tastes of grapes vinous and fruity. bb (9657) - Alamo, California, USA - JUN 4, 2010
Draft. Purple-ish beer with a pink head. Wine-like aroma. Wine and light malt flavor with big red fruit. Medium bodied. Wine notes linger with grape and fruit. brokensail (16601) - Dublin, California, USA - MAY 9, 2010
A: The pour is an intriguing one: dark purple in color with plenty of red mixed in. The head is fluffy and pink, but short lived.
S: The nose is definitely "grapey". There isn’t much to it, to be honest. Other than some vinous qualities, there’s some mixed berries, and a bit of sweetness.
T: The flavor is similarly wine-like. The skins provide some mild tannins on the palate, but again, there’s just a bit of mixed berry flavor (mostly raspberries), and some grape juice.
M: The body is a bit on the light side and has a bit of dryness to it. Despite being carbonated, the beer seems a little flat on the tongue, but for some reason, it works.
D: I was hoping this beer would have a little tartness to it, but was disappointed on that front. A decent enough beer, but I wouldn’t look to try this again. beersearcher (2382) - Glendale, California, USA - FEB 26, 2010
Pours a very wine like red. Not surprisingly. Aroma is fairly muted. Alot of wine notes with some sour sneaking in here and there. By the end, I was getting some pronounced silky, buttery flavors. bikesandbeers (547) - san diego, California, USA - FEB 20, 2010
On Tap at Lucky baldwins. Served in a Stella goblet the beer is red wine color with a thick pick head. Fruity aroma
