COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bäekdusan Hefeweizen is a throwback to the Old Country. "Hefeweizen," which means "wheat beer," is, just as its name implies, brewed with wheat and flavored with citrus for a crisp, refreshing brew with a fruity finish that will keep you coming back for more. Like all of our brews, Bäekdusan is unfiltered, allowing its full flavor to come through.

Eh nothing really special here. Pretty standard Hefe across the board; nothing really stands out (good or bad qualities). Considering the severe lack of microbreweries in Korea, however, this beer will have to do.

Very standard weizen with dominant clove aroma. Light, not much carbonated, fruity, yeasty, ester.. soso.

Light yellow in color. Very smooth with a banana taste. Not much hinting that this is a hefeweizen except the name.

(Tap at Craftworks tap house, Itaewon)
Opaque lemon colour, ring head. Wheat and slightly floral notes in the aroma. A hint of sourness on the first sip, but that is just a bit of bite in the early finish later. Pretty crisp, quite wheaty. Has quite a bitter finish, in which there is a hint of orange zest.
Unusually, Phil did not share this.

Lubiere (14127) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 20, 2014
A hazed pale blonde weizen with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, classic banana cake with smooth cloves cloves, nice. In mouth, a nice light quaffable weizen with nice cloves, sweet fruity malt, classic. On tap at brewery.

GIJOE (1249) - North Berwick, Maine, USA - MAR 30, 2014
Pours a pale, cloudy yellow with a mottled, white head. Decent lacing. Nose is faint citrus. Taste is well-balanced: sweet, but with a nice bitter edge. Light bodied brew, soft carbonation, Pretty good.

KansaiBeerLvrs (5255) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAY 5, 2013
On tap at Craftworks. They mislabelled the kegs of this beer & the pilsner at the brewery so I drank it thinking it was the pilsner! It was a decent weizen with spices, cloves and slightly sour notes.

[email protected] Craftworks Taphouse & Bistro. Very hazy dark blond coloured beer with almost no white head and no carbonation. Clear banana yeasty wheaty hinted aroma. Medium to full palate. Finish is sweet fruity with hints of banana and orange with a longer dry sweet wheaty finish. Medium weizen.

3.2
SHIG (4964) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - AUG 1, 2011
Draft: Poured hazy yellow with white head. Aroma is citrus and banana. Taste is cloves up front with banana, bitter tart wheat finish.
