(16oz fliptop bottle thanks to blutt59) clearish orange with fine white bubbles. Nose of rotten bananas, raisin, German all the way, sweet. Taste of old banana, cracker, dry grain, gold raisin. Well carbonated, some perm (ala 80’s hair salon) chemicals in here too.

Braudog (6835) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - OCT 9, 2011
Draft at the brewery. Hazy blonde with a creamy halo of white foam. Drinks with an almost cream ale consistency, but with a light alcoholic kick and a vague yeasty whisper in the background. Quite drinkable. (#4299, 10/5/2011)

(16oz flip-top bottle, courtesy of blutt59) Pours a hazy amber body with a medium beige head. Aroma of raisins, herbs, caramel, and yeast. Flavor of raisins, yeast, herbs, nuts, banana, and caramel.

Growler. Just a sad, sad effort. Worst double I’ve every tasted, heck not even close to the style. Gym socks on the palate and wet funky dog sweat finish. Actually, dogs don’t sweat do they? If they did it would taste like this stuff.

anders37 (27035) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUN 26, 2011
Draft @ the brewery. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty spicy yeasty aroma with hints of caramel. Sweetish malty spicy yeasty flavor. Has a fruity sweetish malty spicy yeasty finish.

Just average abbey dubble. Aroma shows mostly caramel but missing the distinctive Belgian yeastiness. Pours cloudy dark amber. Flavors never quite meld. Ends on an earthy bitter tip.

Shag (3045) - Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA - MAR 24, 2011
Probably wrong for the style but still an ok beer. This poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma was contained some caramel, brown sugar, and spices. The flavor was rather sweet with a spice presence. Overall a nice beer but not a Dubbel.

ucusty (2693) - raleigh, North Carolina, USA - FEB 25, 2011
Bottle from peabodies in Boone, NC. Hazy lighter shade of amber. Fluffy off white head and drippy lace. Aroma is grainy with subtle phenolic hints. Gum, grains, and banana. Decent
