Served on draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy brownish orange color with a medium creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, green apple and some nutty notes. Taste is apple, caramel, toffee, raisin, candi sugar and a hoppy finish. Medium bodied. Nice beer. chandler0201 (650) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAY 22, 2009
Amber pour with small white head. Molasses in aroma and very sugary in the flavor. Hint of malts and hops which were very thick. Balanced and delicious and highly drinkable. decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - OCT 15, 2011
Cloudy yellow pour with white head and lace. Bannana, clove, and brown sugar. Over ripe bananas, clove, brown sugar, a dry finish with a light bitter. Good body and carbonation. Pretty nice beer. Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 23, 2012
Originally reviewed: 1/15/11. Super excited to see this new one at City Beverage the other week. Picked up a bottle. I’ve sampled some from these guys at different brewfests around the area, but this is first "sit-down" beer of theirs. I think this might be the first of theirs they bottle??
16oz swingtop bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a hazy sunset-orange with the thinnest of lacy sheets on top. No lace left behind. The nose is tart and yeasty with notes of sawdust, a bit of an ethanol burn on the finish. Some banana notes as well.
The mouth on this one is standout. Many of the style can overly spritz and leave the palate a little worn out. This beer has plenty of carbonation, but the bubbles dissipate quickly leaving a smooth mellow finish. Belgian yeast-y flavors right away, but this gives way to pale fruits like mushy pear and old apple. A forgettable finish, as this beer leaves no trace. Very clean ending. Drinkable beer though, no doubt. I don’t usually reach for this style often, but nice to know I’ve got a good local one I can grab when I’ve got the itch. Cloudy orange, with a nice ring of foam. Smells like toffee, with some rye-ish and some other spicy aroma. I get some rye, as well. some oatmeal, too. Odd sweet flavor in the finish - kinda like smarties candies, maybe.

Probably wrong for the style but still an ok beer. This poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma was contained some caramel, brown sugar, and spices. The flavor was rather sweet with a spice presence. Overall a nice beer but not a Dubbel. jhumphries69 (1034) - Tyrone, Georgia, USA - MAY 14, 2011

Draft at the Pharmacy. Pours a hazy orange with a thin white head. Bold bananna bubble gum aroma. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Very wheaty malt backbone, with flavors of banana, clove, and Belgian candi sugar. Average attenuation, perhaps leaning toward the sweet side. Phenolic finish that distracts a tad. Very summer esque, and not what I typically think of when drinking a dubbel.
