Keg at Mother Kelly’s, Bethnal Green. It pours a clean copper color with a medium beige head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of grains, starch, melon, toffee, biscuit. Taste is also medium sweet and lightly burnt woody with notes of caramel, biscuit, melon. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, expected more

Not at all a beer I like, but admittedly quite unique in its features. Nose: garlic, black truffles, nutty; taste: licorice, earthy with mineral edges to it, like ponies on a damp and muddy, hot and humid summer’s day in quite a dirty park, also lots of honey and very sweet.

5/30/2016: Dull amber-brown color with a beige head; caramel, dried dates and some raisin, slightly nutty with some vanilla from time to time, suggestion of cocoa in the finish; medium body, smooth mouthfeel; quite interesting and good. Bottle.
