COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Possibly the most rustic and obscure beer of Germany, the salty, sour gose of Leipzig needed an American touch. How about grapefruit zest? The result is probably the only beer that goes just as well by the pool as it does with Thanksgiving dinner.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2018 Bomber shared. Clear golden pour. Aroma is funk, grapefruit. Taste follows, salty, sour, clean finish. This is really well done!

Bomber poured into Stella chalice: Initial pour was clear golden orange with an inch of pillowy foam, effervescent, but plenty of sediment flows out from the bottom of the bottle. Predominant aroma of citrus with minor florals and caramel. Very tart and semi-dry, grapefruit rind, acidic, a bit slick. I would say it’s medium bitter, and I don’t taste much salt. It finishes with a little bit of syrup, medium mouthfeel.

Bomber from a trade. Citrus grapefruit peel is big and bitter. Some saltiness and yeast like sourness. Clear yellow color. Refreshing. Light.

From the bottle. Nice looking clean pour with big notes of grapefruit and tartness. Good.

Clear straw colored, small head, not too heavy on the fermentation. Obvious grapefruit notes. Very palatable for a sour.

Sampled at GABF 2016 with Paul and Larry. Pours a hazy orange body with thin white lacing. Nose lets off some strange aromas - candles and bathroom odors. Mouthfeel is medium to light bodied with off notes of wax and fecal character. A bit disappointing after how enjoyable the apricot offering was.

Draft at Craft Beer Cellar in StL. Slick gold color. Low clarity. Dry grapefruit aroma. Flavor is like homemade lemonade with a fruit tart flavor, very tart and a bit more grapefruit at the end. Not full on soda but a bit of grapefruit orangina.

Draft/Fest. A- Bland, subtle tartness. A- Gold color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Tart, slightly funk, mild saltiness. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, tart finish. O- A solid gose by all means but I detect no grapefruit at all. Maybe it adds to the tartness but it didn’t add much to the flavor or aroma.
