COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Possibly the most rustic and obscure beer of Germany, the salty, sour gose of Leipzig needed an American touch. How about grapefruit zest? The result is probably the only beer that goes just as well by the pool as it does with Thanksgiving dinner.

Bomber from a trade. Citrus grapefruit peel is big and bitter. Some saltiness and yeast like sourness. Clear yellow color. Refreshing. Light.

Clear straw colored, small head, not too heavy on the fermentation. Obvious grapefruit notes. Very palatable for a sour.

Sampled at GABF 2016 with Paul and Larry. Pours a hazy orange body with thin white lacing. Nose lets off some strange aromas - candles and bathroom odors. Mouthfeel is medium to light bodied with off notes of wax and fecal character. A bit disappointing after how enjoyable the apricot offering was.

Draft at Craft Beer Cellar in StL. Slick gold color. Low clarity. Dry grapefruit aroma. Flavor is like homemade lemonade with a fruit tart flavor, very tart and a bit more grapefruit at the end. Not full on soda but a bit of grapefruit orangina.

Draft/Fest. A- Bland, subtle tartness. A- Gold color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Tart, slightly funk, mild saltiness. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, tart finish. O- A solid gose by all means but I detect no grapefruit at all. Maybe it adds to the tartness but it didnt add much to the flavor or aroma.

Pours very hazy yellow with a white head. The aroma has lots of tasty grapefruit, super salt and some crackers. It has a light crisp body with sharp carbonation, but still had a smoothness to it. The taste definitely has grapefruit and salt to an extent high for a gose. There is also some crisp wheat, pith and a touch sweetness.

750 mL bottle shared with Gus. The pour is a dark golden orange with a thick white head that fizzes right down to nothing. Its got a soda-like carbonation and it continues forever. The aroma is incredibly salty. There is a light citrus, but bot the tart sourness I want with grapefruit. There is a bit of zest and an overwhelming saltiness. The flavor is very similar. Salt bomb. The grapefruit forces up on the back end, and there is a light tartness to it, but its nothing like I was hoping for. The mouth feel is thin and light with a bright effervescence to it and a lingeringly salty citrus rind on the finish. Its interesting for sure.
