Draft pours red with a off white head. Aroma of caramel malts. Not much more in the taste. ebone1988 (1858) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - JAN 3, 2016
Bottle shared with koleminer20, out of "Dumpster Day" box #1. Aroma is extreme many, raisins, caramel, metallic, very off-putting. Appearance is mahogany, off-tan head. Taste is metallic. Dry. Some bittersweet malt but very very bad. Mouthfeel is medium body and carbonation, metallic aftertaste. Overall, yikes. This is not good at all. koleminer20 (3498) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JAN 3, 2016
12 oz bottle shared with ebone1988 from Dumpster Day Box No. 1. Oh boy. This should be awful. The pour is a ruby color with a big frothy off white head and sticky, soapy lace. The aroma is something awful. There is a bracingly bitter malt and a strong metallic twinge. And that's it. No good. The flavor is bready, then alley allow malts. This baby should've been abandoned. The mouth feel is watery and thin, just about no carbonation and it hangs around. That's problematic for something that isn't wanted. Metallic bready malts. Blah.

Bottle to half-pint. Looks solid; a slightly hazy copperish amber with fizzy very light caramel head that quickly dissipates into thin lacing. Smells malty with notes of caramel, mild bitterness from the hops, and a bit of toast. Tastes like it smells with a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Not bad, but forgettable. superspak (5517) - Michigan, USA - APR 20, 2015
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy ruby red/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of caramel, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, raisin, plum, apple, light roast, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, raisin, plum, apple, light roast, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, plum, apple, herbal, grass, light roast, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and complexity of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice Irish red ale style. All around good robustness, balance, and complexity of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

A red that doesn’t have any character but doesn’t really try to do too much so the simplicity is not a downfall decent beer bigtaster (970) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - DEC 23, 2014
Clear brown with dark red hues, giant beige head that lingers for a while. Nose is whole wheat bread, some dark dried fruit, yeast. Medium to light body, initial caramel sweetness covers the tongue then onto a slightly dry finish with more dried fruit on the finish. Decent beer, but lacks complexity. wmubronco1992 (709) - Coldwater, Michigan, USA - NOV 25, 2013
Bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown. Small off white head. Mild aroma of molasses Flavor of sweet caramel. Smooth and creamy with only mild bitterness. Better then expected. Solid beer. May need to plan a road trip. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 25, 2013
Clear ruby with a thin brown head. Aroma of grains, toffee, floral hops and mild paint. Taste of burnt malt, toffee, sugar and mild fruit. Thin and sudsy with minimal hops. HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - OCT 29, 2013
On tap at the HopCat. Rated from notes. Pours a rich reddish pour with a medium light tan head. Aroma of cereal malts, red cake, some brown sugar and molasses, with some earthy hop notes. Flavor is fairly sweet with moderate bitter hop tendencies. Medium to fullbodied with a creamy texture, somewhat coating mouthfeel. It finishes somewhat bitter with a lingering sweetness. Nice, unassuming, but ultimately not special. Just solid.
