We took our Lave Lake Wit, Old Soul Belgian Ale and Scenic Route Kolsch, aged and soured them in tequila barrels and then blended them with an unknown beer that we had aging in a bourbon barrel. The result is a tasty, sour beer unlike any other. Look for it at places like Star Bar, Rackhouse Pub, Colorado Plus, World of Beer and a few others.

Straw blonde pour with one finger of white head. Grassy nose and bitterly sour with some funk and barnyard. Meh in the flavor, bitter and unclean sourness.

On tap at Colorado Plus. Gold and pretty clear with a white head. Fruity and tart aroma of sour apples and tart cherries. Sweet and tart flavor, lightly sour, with a pretty light body. Decent, not bad or offensive.

Smells nice and tart with a bit of mulling spices (altho that might be the christmas tree) but it reminds me of almost a pear cider - in a good way. Nice tartness but not terribly sour and overall solid.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish brown pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of big sour vinegar, garbage-like, touch of tequila, lime, hints of oak and bourbon as well, this is all over the place. Taste is similar, big booze with oak, tequila, bourbon, some sour vinegar mixes in not in a good way, finishing sour, boozy.

On tap at the barrel-aged tasting at World Of Beer-Cherry Creek in Denver, CO during GABF week. Straw colored pour with a short white head. Aroma of citrus, agave, and just a touch of sweetness (perhaps because this started as a Kolsch?). The tequila barrel adds a nice touch of what you would expect; salt, citrus, and just a hint of agave. Unique, refreshing, and enjoyable.

On tap at Colorado Plus poured a hazy golden amber with a small lingering ivory head. Aromas of straw, tequila, carmel, light spice and light fruittiness. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a tart finish. Flavors of straw, tequila, spice, citrus, light bourbon and light oak with a smooth lingering spiced citrus finish.

On tap @ Rackhouse. Golden pour with a small white head. Nose is tart lemon peel, grass, and tequila. Strong sawdust, very herbal, woody, and papery. Flavors of sawdust, wood, tequila, and paper. Tart lemon and green apple notes. Pretty much as expected.
