   AROMA 4/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 9/20

Pours a very clear yellow with a thin white head that leaves some lacing. Nose is of corn and not much else. Taste is lightly acidic and off-dry. More corn, some other cereals. Somewhat crisp. Body is medium, carbonation moderate and mouthfeel is slick. Overall it was not a disaster but not even close to being a proper kölsch.

A bit of an average unremarkable beer. Has a bit of a macro quality to it though maybe that is just because it is a kolsch. Kolsch is not my favourite style but the good examples of it have a bit of spice and character while this is a bit bland. A grainy malt with a bit of sugar and very little hops. Not a bad beer but unremarkable.

Pale golden pour with a thick white head. The aroma is pretty nice. A soft slightly fruity aroma. A bit of sweetness and a moderate bitterness. Firm and slightly herbal. There's a bit of fruit and some other sweetness. Decent.

Love a good lagered ale, keeps things just interesting enough, with out taking things too far.

(Rating #7937)

Can - pours a turbid unfiltered copper-gold ale in the glass with a decent 2 finger off white cap that laces the glass sides well. Aroma is intriguing - floral, caramel, citrus peel and pine with a musty earthy tone....this is NOT Kolsch by any stretch. had a bulky robust mouth feel, lively hopping but very earthy. Flavor profile has caramel malts and bitter hopping in balance with musty-woodsy side tones - goes to an increasingly bitter and dry finish with a hop bit at the end - very rounded and mellow yet bright hoppy and robust - My guess is this is more like a lagered robust ESB, far better than I was expecting.

Can. Clear yellow body, medium white head with average retention, some lacing. Aroma of grains, hay, apricots...sugary. Taste of grains, some herb, corn and honey. A tad too sweet, but not bad overall.

Canmoore (509) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 23, 2017
Pours a clear straw colour, with a small white head. Aroma notes include faint esters, faint apricot, apple peel, and caramel. Tasting notes include honey, caramel, and biscuit. Thing light feel with a dry and slightly herbal finish. In fact this isn't that bad of a kölsch imitation!

czar (9802) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 14, 2017
can. pours almost clear bright gold with a small white cap offering minimal retention and lacing. faint lagering fruitiness - very few apricots; lightly caramelized honey-ish maltiness, relatively clean yeast action. moderate carbonation, light body - thin but not watrery; dry, almost crisp but kind of bland herbal finish. fruity and round like a golden ale with very few kölsch attributes. still a pretty decent macro kölsch on north american soil.

HippyHop (733) - Quebec, CANADA - AUG 31, 2017
This smells like beer. Tastes like beer too. No hop aroma to speak of. Plain grain malt. Solid dose of bitterness. Drinkable but boring af. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

swiseman (542) - Fredericton, New Brunswick, CANADA - AUG 22, 2017
pours a pale yellow with minimal head. some hop and mixed aromas - tin maybe? a bit of malt flavour with stale hops. finish is mild bitterness. not impressive.
