1/21/12. On tap. Light black pour with a small tan head. Light roasted caramel aroma. This tastes exactly like the alt but with some chocolate. Meh. Oakes (18552) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 17, 2012
Medium brown with no head. Kind of unattractive that way. Lightly chocolatey aroma. Kind of thin, with some chocolate notes. Very simple and not very exciting. BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - APR 26, 2011
Tap @ Brewery: Pours a dark color with no head. Aroma is toasty with caramel and dark fruit, nice and roasted with a clean rye bread flavor and light hops in the finish. Mouthfeel is a bit thin by comparison but it’s nice. BillKismet (4103) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 20, 2011
Blood red hued with ok head. Easy caramel malt nose. The flavor commences with biscuity notes, but quickly flattens into a sparse grainy character. rudolf (2360) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JAN 26, 2011
Deep brown, no head. Nose is restrained cocoa, some roast malt. Flavor is very nice roast & chocolate. Kinda like a light porter.

Draft at the brewpub. Mahogany colored with a malty character, yet light in body. Passable dunkel-style lager. (#4024, 12/11/2010) adamaustin (38) - Louisiana, USA - NOV 13, 2010
Enjoyed this in New Orleans. Not quite rich enough for me. The Red Stallion is supposed to be awesome. brewersspot (97) - , California, USA - OCT 28, 2010
I had this beer a while back and from what I can remember I enjoyed it. I’ve had this at the pub/brewery so it was fresh.
Nothing special about it is popping into my head at the moment. 6ROW (473) - corpus christi, Texas, USA - SEP 23, 2010
dark red to brown pour with no head, slightly warming malty taste (wish i knew the abv.) this was one of their better beers. rayg1 (594) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 19, 2010
Pours out a murky brown color with little to no head on it. Aroma is faintly nutty and slightly sweet. Mouthfeel is a bit watery but big roasted notes come out and save this one on flavor. Caramel notes of sweetness pop in and out, light carbonation. Not bad, perhaps the best beer this place has to offer.
