Drinking this on tap. There are some good flavors in here but I am inclined to agree with whomever it was who wrote tasty but not exceptional. That about sums it up! olr1984 (1500) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 2, 2013

Bottle. Dark brown with a large off white head. Nose and taste are very similar. Nutty with chocolate, a touch of hops and an almost lager like yeast character. Medium mouthfeel with solid carbonation. This is tasty but not exceptional. cgarvieuk (25224) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 19, 2013

22oz bomber. Pours a medium brown color with 2 fingers of cream colored head. Aroma is of roasted and nutty malts. Tastes slightly bitter up front, with a sweet caramel like malt backbone, and subtle nuttiness.

Ugh - maybe I let this sit around too long in my cellar? Massive tan head on the pour taking up almost the entire glass. Looks like foam from a root beer float. Taste is a bit of bitter, alcohol and a bittersweet finish. Blarg. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - JAN 16, 2013
Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a moderate off-white head. Nose is very slight, but there is a faint alcohol smell to this. Taste is somewhat malty with a slight kick of bitterness on the finish. Fairly light and smooth, but subtle flavors. unclemattie (4358) - Georgia, USA - JAN 4, 2013
22oz bottle. Medium brown color, tan foam. Head looks like seafoam. Kinda had a dirty pour, seems to have been over bottle conditioned. Scents of citrus hops, musty toasted cereal. Sour flavor, over carbonated. Hints of toasted grains and wood. Overall, it tastes like a beer that had been aged in a barrel sitting forgotten in someone’s garage. 22oz bottle from jtclockwork, thanks James! Pours a lightly hazed, brown colored body with a bit of an orange hue around the edges. Finger-width, dense and creamy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is sweeter nutty caramels with a light toast, cocoa, and a hint of toffee-butter. A few dark fruit notes and a light earth. Flavor is similar. Nutty sweet caramels with a bit of a toasty toffee, cocoa, and a light dark fruit note. A decent earthiness and roast backing as this finishes dry and moderately bitter with a light malt sweetness to balance. Lengthy aftertaste following a smooth, medium-light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid, easy drinking and flavorable brown ale. Earthy and somewhat roasty with a nice nutty caramel and light cocoa malt backing. Enjoyable. Drake (14033) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 6, 2012
