With the name "East Coast Lager" I atuomatically thought this beer would be a red lager in the vain of Yuengling Lager. I was wrong; this beer had a yellow Schaeffer beer appearance. Hollow craft brewed lager, reminded me more of a New York state beer (Koch’s Golden Anniversary) than a New Jersey beer (Flying Fish). raymow (1668) - Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 24, 2004
Drinkable - I had this one on tap at Sippin’ by the River last Sunday (I think). It doesn’t stick out in my mind as one of the more memorable beers that I had that day, so I can only assume that it wasn’t the best (nor the worst). dthmtldgn (32) - barrington, New Jersey, USA - SEP 19, 2004
not bad. for a jersey beer. easy to drink for a craft brewey, and im anxious to try their other brews. hopdog (12584) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 19, 2004
On tap. Poured a lighter golden color. No real distinct aroma or flavors. Pass... beaconstreet (811) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 21, 2004
100th rating with Jine. Now we gets our crowns, baby. The beer was unique for such a celebration. Very pale for a special brew. Hoppy, but a mellowed hoppiness. Grainy without hurting the throat or being wheaty, very slightly nutty. The bar is fantastic, one of the few bars left in North New Jersey left for live music and just rocking and chilling a Friday night away at the same time. Very real, very nice.

100th rating. Had this at the Great Notch Inn on Rt. 46 in New Jersey. The tap said "Great Notch Inn Harley’s Barley Brew by Cricket Hill Brewing Co." On the side it said it was a lager. We don’t know anything else about it right now, going to get in touch with the brewery to find out specifics. Overall a good beer. mkobes (2142) - paramus, New Jersey, USA - JUL 23, 2004
On tap at Andy’s. Clear and golden in color. Malty flavor and crisp. Clean tasting. No hop character. Good beer. MaiBockAddict (1497) - Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA - JUL 23, 2004
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2005 Updated rating based on tap and bottle consumption: Clean crisp German helles like brew. No flaws and nice malt character with gentle hops. Nothing that will impress an ale drinker, but a really nice all-malt lager that is great for binge drinking. New Rating.

Clear and golden, not much head. Aroma has very little amounts of everything, with some distant fruity notes, malt, and maybe a touch of corn. Flavor is malty, and crisp, but no hop character. Basically well made, but a bit on the bland side. 5-4-5-4-10
Sampled at the Brandywine beerfest at Iron Hill in Media, Pa. a Nothing special beer. A thin lager. No real taste but a beer. HighlanderOne (1332) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - MAY 28, 2004
A disappointment, especially since it’s brewed nearby. They seemed to want to emulate Corona, and I’m not a Corona fan. Maybe it tastes better in Brigantine...
