COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
No mere beverage could satisfy the thirst of the courageous and gallant soldiers who stood guard over the colonies of the British Empire. Their thirst could only be quenched by a full-bodied hearty Ale; an Ale balanced with rich flavorful hops. We are proud to offer our interpretation of this English style India Pale Ale for those who loong for the time when once your duty was complete, the taste of a fine Ale was reward enough for a job well done.

Pours a clear amber-copper with white head. A citrus hop and grain aroma. A grainy taste with some citrus hops and malts. Light bitter hop, malty and grain aftertaste.

12oz bottle at WW tasting. Hazy orange with a thin off white head. Citrus, pine, resin, sweet malt. Medium carbonation. Light style with a sweet finish. OK. (notes)

Poured from the bottle. Amber with a short lived head. Less nose than I expected. For an IPA it was less than remarkable. The palate is similarly lacking. Don’t misunderstand, a decent beer ... Just not a power player in the class.

joejames (510) - Jacobus, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 28, 2015
Bottle to shaker glass. Pours hazy amber orange, two finger fluffy off white head. Nice lacing and retention. Aroma caramel and light pine. Taste is more sweet than bitter. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, sticky mouth feel. Finishes bittersweet. Tasting notes of caramel, butterscotch, metallic, banana and skunk. Something wrong here, looks better than it tastes.

Cybercat (6145) - Georgia, USA - APR 23, 2015
Pours clear amber with a thick, fluffy, and rather persistent pale buff head. Crisp aroma is very hoppy and resiny; subtle malty and citrus notes provide support. Flavor is quite hoppy yet not at all bitter; malty and grapefruit notes peek through. Texture is fairly smooth and fizzy, average but pleasant. Maybe not exactly "hopnotic," but enjoyable.

trapped (3599) - New York, TURKEY - MAR 16, 2015
Draught @ NYC Craft Beer Festival. Cloudy bright yellow with large off-white foamy head, low carbonation, little hops taste, medium bitter finish. Not a great IPA.

Draft at the NYC craft beer festival. Hoppy darker amber iPa with a nice malty hop flavor. Decent

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with medium off white head that lasts. The aroma is floral hop, pine, and citrus. Medium mouth with light hop bite, citrus, and light bitter finish, decent.

Single 12 oz. bottle supplied by jcwattsrugger- many thanks! Was an extra in our IP trade in Nashua. I’m quite sure he’s already given me this before, but I just haven’t ever gotten around to rating the blasted thing. To wide-rimmed tumbler, it pours an amber orange with which a filmy off-white, quickly diminishing head 1 finger in length stood. Aromas of cilantro, body odor/gym socks, ferns, Bible paper, burnt plastic, and hop tincture. Tastes the same (minus "body odor", which can be and should be described as "sweat" pertaining to its flavor), with the addition of pine cones, DME, and caramelized onions. This is not how an IPA should taste. Bitter, strange and unpleasant. Minorly malty-sweet by mid-palate.

probstblueribbon (4088) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 10, 2014
12 oz bottle from BOTW (Rochester), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear deep golden with a decent, rocky yellowish head. Aroma: Sweet malts and buttered popcorn (diacetyl), slightly fruity and resinous, the malt sweetness borders on cloying. Palate: Medium+ body, slightly relaxed carbonation. Flav.: Icky-sticky sweet malts, fairly prominent diacetyl, resin/pine/pepperiness; sweet with reasonable bitterness and a dusty, sweet malt finish.

Meh. Hopnotically meh.
