Bottle thanks to John: Poured a dark black with a huge tan color head. Aroma is a bit burnt and grassy. Taste is a little charcoal and chocolate. Cybercat (5832) - Georgia, USA - FEB 1, 2012
Rich, smoky aroma has notes of licorice and molasses plus a waxy hint like one of those old fat crayons. It pours a deep, warm sable with a fairly thick, if not too persistent, light tan head. Flavor is what I expect from a good porter: malty, smoky, with notes of molasses and burnt wood and hints of licorice and unsweet chocolate. Thick, rich texture has plenty of fizz and leaves a smoky, tingly finish. If you love porters, look for it. reggiedunlop (3724) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 13, 2012
Pours dark brown with a thin mocha head. Aroma is milky with a bit of roastiness and a slight "off" scent. Flavor is soury/roasty...odd. mouthfeel is medium with a sour/roasty finish. Dunno if this is the intended brew or something is infected...
