22 oz bottle. Pours a murky light yellow with barely any head just a faint ring. Aroma of rice and pears. Hint of apples. Very dry on the palate. Sake flavor dominates with a slight hint of soured apples on the backbone. Loads of carbonation. Exactly what the bottle says it is minus the "distinctive apple backbone." The apple is barely in there. Sour and disappointing. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - DEC 16, 2012
Bottle from Warehouse Wine and Spirits in Spring Hill. Pours a hazy light yellow color with an ephemeral white head. Nose is some tart apple and some light pear with notes of rice. Flavor follows- some mild tart apple, a bit watery and hints of the sake yeast. Interesting, but a bit more one-dimensional than I thought. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - OCT 8, 2012
Bottle. Pours a super-light almost white color with a very small head. Faint notes of apple in the smell, but it’s not strong. Taste is very light and almost sour - barely any apple in it at all. Not a fan. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - OCT 6, 2012

Pours an average cloudy yellow with a nose of ricey plumb wine with light pear and apple. Flavor is apple, sweetened rice, and light grain. Average mouthfeel. Interesting.
Bottle. Hazy light yellow pour. Pretty bland - not a lot of tart, sour, or really any distinguishing element. Not bad, just dull.

Name: Cho -Tokkyu
Date: June 23, 2012
Source: Total Wine, GA
Appearance: cloudy yellow, scant head
Aroma: sweet winey aroma, apples, touch of wild yeast
Flavor: sweet apple flavor, light mustyness, drying earthyness
Aroma: 5/10; Appearance: 5/10; Flavor: 5/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 10/20
Score: ** /4
Ingredients: ...Natural Apple Essence.
Bottle from Charles St. Liquors in Mass.
Swirled per directions. Hazy, very pale, gold body.
Smells of pears, candy, & cooked grain. Fermented fruitiness.
Tastes like white table wine. Lemon. Calcified texture. Faint, powdered sugar sweetness. Moderately high acidity, not much tartness. Carbonation is fleeting.
Reviews seem to suggest that this one has a very short(or at least inconsistent) shelf life. dwyerpg (6378) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUL 11, 2012
Weird, smells more like a pear (soured) than an apple. Very cloudy white. Strange - not sweet at all, but not good either. It’s almost like a water-down Screwdriver in a way. Not what I expected in a bad way. stevencon (522) - Sarasota, Florida, USA - JUL 9, 2012
Shared at Drowland’s Tasting 7/7: very cloudy, milky yellow. aroma of light apple and rice. light apple taste but not very tart, milky feel full mouth feel. drinkable but not very flavorful. I had higher hopes for this cider but over all not bad. agent_511 (157) - - JUL 9, 2012
I enjoy Crispin’s Artisanal Reserve line, however this Cho-Tokkyu was disappointing. I am a fan of Sake, and the flavors that Sake Yeast impart, but the residual sugar is just too high and the sweetness overpowers any complexity the Sake Yeast could have added.
Appearance: pale, hazy
Taste: heavy cloying sweetness
Palate: medium body, lively
