Bottle. Cloudy yellow orange color. Aroma is soft pure whiskey. Taste is apple pie, vanilla, brandy. Nice. bhensonb (15505) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 21, 2012
Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours hazy gold with a few bubbles. Aroma is fairly bourbon. Maybe also rye. Definitely also apple. Flavor is rather cider sweet - I think it’s more rye than bourbon/van - Mildly woody. Think the honey comes through on the lips. Interesting stuff. Not getting banana ester, so don’t know where the trappist yeast went. Tmoney99 (14769) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 6, 2013
Bottle. Poured cloudy dark copper color with a minimal fizzy head that diminished slowly with little lacing. Medium sweet apple, honey and wood aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet apple flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid complex drinkable beverage. 12 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Pours a hazy orange color with a bit of thin fizz. Aroma of sweet apples, earth, honey, vanilla, bourbon. The taste is sweet apples, vanilla, wood, spice, pineapple, citrus, honey, whisky. Medium bodied. Quite interesting. crossovert (13457) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 27, 2013
Booze, bourbon, oak, apples, it is just too sweet for its own damn good, slightly tangy. Also the appearance of this in unappealing.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Bottle from AV3. Murky yellow pour with minimal head. Very nice aroma of apple, oak, and bourbon. Taste was similar. Moderate to lighter palate. Solid cider. alexsdad06 (10596) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - MAR 7, 2013
12 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy orange golden color with no head and quite a bit of particulate in the glass. Nose was fleshy apple, cider like, oak with some sweeter whiskey and a touch of honey if agitated. When it sat for a but it was more soured. The flavor was more subdued due to the barrel. Thinned out apple, oak, light barrel treatments with a soft finish. Not my thing. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 27, 2013
12oz bottle, shared by Nate. My pour is from the end part of the bottle - my 3-4 oz’s are completely cloudy with the yeast. Body is kind of an amber dirty yellow color. Would probably look offensive to most cider drinkers, but I’m kind of intrigued to see some actual yeast in my cider. No head or lace. Interesting, pleasant nose. Apple juice, belgian yeast, and some whiskey barrel. Rice pudding in the flavor. Medium body. Light, smooth carbonation. texture has a light chewiness that is pretty enjoyable. Some honey in the finish, along with the rye whiskey / vanilla flavor. Sweet taste. Light stickiness in the finish. Possibly the most interesting cider I’ve had yet. Whiskey flavor is a bit weaker than in Woodchuck’s offering, but this is much more complex. There’s a lot more going on here. b3shine (9027) - Indiana, USA - JAN 6, 2013
Bottle to snifter (shared with the wife; she picked this one out). Looks decent; a cloudy gold (due to sediment with no real lacing to speak of. Smells and tastes solid; cider and bourbon. Good on the palate. Enjoyable. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - JAN 5, 2013
12-oz. Pours a cloudy pale amber with no head or lace. Big sweet peach, vanilla, apples, and honey on the nose. Sweet but not sharp or dense...it’s approachable. Creamy medium body...soft carb. Apples, peaches, vanilla, and silky sweet dense honey on the mid palate. Shockingly good for what is essentially an extract cider.
