Keg at BD Shoreditch. It pours a deep ruby/brown colour with a smal off-white head. Aroma is quite hoppy and roasty with citrus zest greasy smoke. Taste is roasted malts, quite bitter, woody smoke. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Ok Leighton (21513) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 7, 2013
Keg at BrewDog Shoreditch, London during the collaboration project launch day. A nice collaboration here. Lots of smoke character, some meat, dry chocolate. Lingering cured meats, light minerals. Good balance. Very good. nulptr (114) - SCOTLAND - NOV 17, 2013
keg at cloisters. I don’t love smoked beers or even like them but this is nice and subtle. more wood stove aroma than overpowering smoked bacon. great hoppy backbone as well.

Draft at BrewDog Camden on 19 October. Poured a dark ruby colour with a scummy white head and good lacing. Strong aroma of liquorice, smoked malt and pine. Initial flavours of coffee, grassy hops and cured meat. Finishes with burnt malts, hop resin and smoked woodchips. Nice on just about every level. Birmingham. Dark brown with thin beige head. Piney nose, hops front and center in taste, light caress of chocolate and woodsmoke with fairly drying bitter finish.
[keg, BrewDog Edinburgh] Blackish brown pour with a thin, slightly cream-coloured head. Aroma is piney hop with some citrus, maybe a whiff of smoke. There’s far more smoke on the flavour, which then finishes bitter, piney and phenolic. Something not quite there about this one BenH (3439) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 26, 2013
Keg at the waiting room. Dark brown with tan head. Citrus and pine aroma, orange, slightly cheesey. Taste of pine, slightly pissy and sweaty hops followed by a long smokey finish. I don’t think the smoke works well with hops here. Nice bitter finish. My first experience of a smoked black ipa and can’t say I’m convinced
