Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Dark brown with a cream foam. Aromas are molasses with raisins and boozy notes. Woody with hints of caramel and low pine. Flavours are spritzy lemon with roast coffee and gritty cocoa Bitter pine and grapefruit to finish. Good.

Bottle at home. Bought at BOB Wines, Sydenham. Roast malt choco aroma. Oil black. No head. Initial sweetness before a sour bitterness kicks in. Chocolate, malts and sour fruit and sour milk. Cask handpump, The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Thursday 28 January 2016 Pours black with a light beige head, quite attractive looking beer. Some light chocolate on the nose, in the mouth it is a nice combination of chocolate a little roastiness (ash) and a nice lactose element. Very good beer. Cask gravity at the 2015 London Drinker beer festival. Opaque black coloured pour with a lasting loose mid tan head. Aroma is nutty roast, coco powder, earthy notes. Flavour is composed of smooth semi sweet roasted grains, roasted nuts, little nice mint choc chip thing going on is good. Lingering roasted grains and dark malts. Cask Pint at Edward Rayne (JDW), Raynes Park, London in Feb 2013 - Dark brown in colour. Malty; roasty malts, toffee, chocolate and coffee. Fruity; dark fruits, plums, raisins. Gravity at the CPFC beer festival, 2013. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Christ I’ve got to enter the digital rating world when I’m out and about, my writing’s atrocious! Seemingly the aroma is toffee, dark plums?? or is it chocolate? has to be chocolate. Can’t cope with this shorthand. Flavours of coffee and chocolate. Quite a sweet little number. Dry finish. Not too bad.
