Tap, Lord Nelson Aug. ’10. Jet black with a medium tan head. Loads of chocolate in the aroma, some plums, and a nice roastiness as well. Bittersweet chocolate really dominates the taste with lots of nice dark, rich fruits, and light roast. Silky and a bit viscous with some softness. Sampled @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. Black body with a small beige head. Aroma of dark malt, slightly roasted and some hops. Flavor is sweet, slightly roasted malt, liquorices, hops and fruity. Nice body and a pleasant aftertaste. Very nice. mjs (7778) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 26, 2010
(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan) The beer poured pitch black. The head was quite nice looking and light brown. Aroma contained liquorice, nearly burnt malts and alcohol. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. The taste was very strong with roastedness and hops. The flavours I found were roastedness, chocolate, burntness, mildly ash, quite strongly hops and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. Very strong beer but it was lacking something that would have made it more enjoyable. Nothing wrong but just boring.

On tap at KØ-10. A black beer topped by a small, tan head. The aroma has a lovely roasted, licorice smell, with some sugary sweetness in the back. The flavor is sweet and roasted, with licorice and some prunes. Smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel. The finish is lasting, with licorice and dried fruits to support roasted malts and sweetness. A quite lovely beer that I hope to have again. 100508 Jonte (1496) - Gothenburg, SWEDEN - AUG 14, 2010

A nice porter, although not very spectacular. Chocolate and coffee in taste and aroma. I was a bit surprised to read this was at 9% ABV, the alcohol was pretty well hidden.
