Some fresh hops, not overdone. Pine, grapefruit and some orange. Finishes dry. Not bad. fiulijn (20493) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 27, 2011
Draught at Ølbaren
Hazy amber color, with orange shades; compact, medium-sized creamy head; sticky lace.
The hop aroma is very fresh, fruity (oranges, a splash of mango), but also with a pleasant, delicate, yeasty and cheesy presence; finally milky.
Strong body, toffee and caramel flavor, but, gosh, so dry! In this desert, the bitterness finds no opponent; the hopping is extreme, very resiny and a bit fruity too.
For the above conditions, the final is rather harsh, excessively bitter, with hop resins that will make your tongue retract to the back of the throat.
It’s an experience on its own, as much as drinking a Penguin.
