This variant spelling of the Roma people and their infamous vardo-pulling horses, full of flash and fortitude, inspired our take on this classic style. We can relate to the lifestyle of traveling and music! This well balanced, full-bodied, American-style India Pale Ale treats your palate to a fusion of extreme hoppines and sweet caramel malts!

bottle @ Double Shoppe / Ocean Springs MS --- Hazy dark amber, rocky 2" beige head, big lace blobs. Taste is malt that adds cloying hops. The finish is both sour and bitter in an off-putting way. I can only hope this has turned, because if it hasn’t, it is a really poor conception

Tap at the brewery. Pours clear tawny with a medium, beige head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is citrus and fruity hops, cereal malt and plastic. Flavor is heavy citrus and fruity hops and pithy bitterness, cereal malt and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

12oz bottle. Clear dark amber color with ivory head. Citrus, floral, dry caramel, herbal aromas. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Big crystal meth, er, I mean malt base brew with herbal, floral, citrus hoppage---and light toast____tangy finish. ...good.

Yikes! Gipsy IPA has a thin, off-white head, a murky, green-orange-brown appearance, with big, tan yeast chunks all about. The aroma is of sweet & sour sauce, old bread, turned fruit, caramel, and acid. Taste is of all that, with some off-the-wall and unusual bitterness, cellar mold, and rotten melon rind. Mouthfeel is medium and slimy, and Gipsy IPA finishes wet and sloppy. RJT

bottle bought in the big easy . . very deep amber .. medium foam .. caramel, dried grass, and silly sap .. mouth is decent, an alright ipa .. . . you would he threaten to kill you in public?

From bottle into snifter. Pours a murky light brown color with medium sized tan head. Caramel, yeast, and pine in the nose. Medium body, moderate sweetness, good bitterness, quick finish, some earthiness. Moderate to high carbonation. Very different interpretation of an IPA, almost no floral/fruit hop characteristics, muddy brown color, sweet. I would probably call this a well hopped amber. Nothing off, just weird.

obguthr (6355) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - DEC 14, 2014
Tea and pencil shavings nose, briney. Cloudy brown, medium tan head. Horehound with tea accents. Tea is especially noticeable in the end. Medium body, a little harsh. Not an IPA, and a strange take on an IDA. Too hoppy and strong to be an ABA.

Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - OCT 11, 2014
Dark amber pour with a tan head. The aroma has some floral notes and a bit of pine. The flavor is a mix of pine, biscuit malt, caramel malt and a medium level of bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Pours a deep copper color with a moderate white head, leaving light lacing. Has an aroma of pine and fully hoppyness. Full bodied taste with a full bitter finish.

A nice bitter beer. Fading head. Malty no hop aroma. Bitter builds more and more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
