Artisan ale brewed with fresh white sage and lemongrass We at Crooked Stave find solace playing in the Colorado Mountains and possess a great pride for the place we call home. Paying homage to our great state and the even larger Western Region of the US, we brewed Colorado WildSage, a Brett Saison incorporating fresh herbs, including white sage and lemongrass. Brewed with the backcountry in mind, Colorado WildSage is dominated by a bright floral aroma, soft herbal notes and a crisp Brettanomyces bite from primary fermentation and further bottle conditioning with our house mixed yeast culture. Brewed with all Colorado ingredients in order to deliver a little bit of the high country to everyone who decides to share in this beer with us.

Can pours with obvious turbidity, and a thin band of slime connects can and glass. It's hazy orange / yellow, with a finely bubbled white head. Taste and smell are lemongrass, some light fruit, and spicy phenols. Finishes clean with slight biscuit. $3/12oz can

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is defiantly a herbal sage with not much else making it past that. Flavor is again herbal sage with some yeast esters and a little tongue punching bitterness. A very herbal and rustic saison, it's just that the sage kind of overpower everything else.

jmgreenuk (10706) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - DEC 19, 2017
Tap at Brody’s, Den Haag. Poured a clear straw colour with a frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is bretty yeast, citrus fruit, light dry hop. The flavour is moderate to light sour, with a smooth dry fresh crisp yeasty, light fresh fruit palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2017 500 ml bottle (Alus Celle, Riga) (6:4:4:3:7=2.4)
Vanilla bretty aroma. Misty straw. Bretty taste, very yeasty, complete opposite to the Almanac from earlier. Rough palate. Not a good beer at all. Horiffically yeasty, bretty and more. Terrible brew, need to scrape my tongue.

Marduk (9014) - Reval, ESTONIA - NOV 25, 2017
355ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Clear golden color. Huge size, thick white head, stays. Sweet, Belgian yeast, fruity, farmhouse, funky in aroma. Herbal, acetone, band aid, rubbery in taste. Rubbery, band aid in aftertaste. Happens.
