Sampled at the Source with Andrew and Ellen during GABF 2015. Pours a hazy golden orange with thick white head. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with notes of bitter lemon, sour wheat, lemongrass, pine, funky lemonade and dry brett character.

Bottle @ home shared by Dutchdrebus. Hazy yellow color, medium sized white head. Aroma is citrussy, vinous, fruity and slightly dusty in a good way. Tastes about the same. Lovely balanced sour wild ale with a citrussy fruity touch and a little bitterness. Nice!

Bottle from a store in Copenhagen, could be CBC as well. Should have opened this months ago but just found it when cleaning out the closet. Funky smell with some wood and tartness. Similar taste, tart with funk and some hops. But it also has a plastic dill flavour in the background that makes me think of Sorachi Ace (crawfish), not as bad though and still very drinkable. All in all a nice beer.

Hazy golden and lightly coppered coloured body with a decent two centimetre tall head with a lot of bubbles. Aroma of funk, brett, yeast, wheat, coriander seed, flowers and a good deal of grassy characteristics with not much hops at all. Light-bodied; Assertive effervescence; Strong brett and yeast flavours throughout with a lot of funk, some grass and floral elements with hints of sourness from lemons and grapefruit, but absolutely no hops at all. Aftertaste is rich and complex with the yeast, brett and sour funk flavours, but the malt, hop and ’typical’ beer flavours are very minimal. Overall, an interesting beer that is pure wild ale and not an IPA in the slightest bit, but it’s what you expect from Crooked Stave. Nice to sample, but I wouldn’t have paid this price nor taken it halfway back across the country if I knew it was this. I sampled this 37,5 cL split bottle purchased from Mr. B’s Wine & Spirits in Denver, Colorado on 08-March-2016 for US$5,99 sampled at home in Washington on 06-December-2016.

Bottle at home. Pours a lovely yellow golden slightly hazy color with a white head. Aroma has notes of citrusy fruits, lemon, some funky brett, grains, yeast, tiny bit of lacto and a grassy nice dryhop. Taste combines the lovely citrusy sour with the brett funk and that IPA hop boost, well balanced. Taste is light sweet, light bitter and medium sour. Medium body, under medium carbonation.

On tap at Fool’s Gold, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of brett funk, with a lovely dry hopping. Flavour is similar, with lots of brett funk dominating, with fairly subdued dry hopping. Loads of depth - this series always delivers. I don’t really get the Falconers Flight’s uniqueness but it’s well-done overall.
