Cloudy gold pour with a 3 finger, fluffy off white head. Aroma is big on citrus, tropical fruit and cat box hops, sweaty bretty funk, green wood tartness, and some toasty wood notes. Flavor is full of sweaty brett funk up front, some fallen leaves earthy funk, sweaty dishwater, light, sort of sweet wood notes, lots of citrus and some tropical fruit and cat box hoppy notes, but not nearly as much as the aroma indicates. Light to medium body, neutral to dry entry, off dry finish and light, but sharp and blanketing carbonation. Really good stuff overall, after the first couple of sips the sweaty/dishwater notes die down and it is actually quite enjoyable.

Tap at Alus Celle. Slightly hazy yellow, small white head stays. Aroma is tart, grassy, fruity, some passionfruit. Taste is mildly tart, malty, grainy. Medium bodied, average carbo. Really nice refresher, but expectes more sourness.

Where and how: @ Prohibition Pig brew pub, on tap
Aroma oak with brett funk, mild tartness with clean behind. Excellent blend of characters.
Appearance :
Top: large snow white cap, ornamental lace, with defined rings. Long lasting.
Base: hazed gold(?).
Palate : medium thinner body, soft carbonation, soft texture with longer finish. Dry walls, lip smacking.
Taste: Funky yet in check, even balanced. Mild oak, brett presentation as not one side affair. Smooth with floral sides. Late citrus notes, hinted with marmalade. Excellent creation.

This beer tastes like it’s slightly off, there is something yeastie and shroomie about it, I’m not sure if that’s the point, but I rather dislike it. It messes up the rest of the aroma/taste.

Alusmamuts (1976) - LATVIA - JUN 27, 2017
Amber with small white head. Sour aroma. Fruity sourness mixed with remarkable bitterness. Carbonated. Sour fruity aftertaste with certain bitterness.
