375ml bottle, thanks Aaron! Pours a purplish brown color with a white head that fades to bubbles around the edge. Aroma is oaky, citrus fruit, lemon. Medium on the palate with lively carbonation. Flavor is sour, oak, some light berry fruit, blackberry, hay, with a light sour finish. The blackberry is a bit lost, but otherwise a very nice sour ale. christoph (19) - littleton, Colorado, USA - FEB 7, 2014

Appearance: Hazy raspberry colored body with a short and light pink head.
Aroma: Sort of sulfury with a mild sour blackberry presence.
Taste: Mildly sour, reminds me of an Atomic Warhead, but no substance beneath. The base is watery and the sourness doesn’t do much to add to flavor, it’s just sour to be sour.
Palate: Sort of flat.
Overall: I’ve had three Crooked Stave beers, the other two were excellent. I’m not sure where this went wrong but this was very boring and the people I drank it with agreed. It tasted watery and generically sour. What a shame.
Aroma is sour, lactic, and acidic with berry acidity. Looks beautiful dark purple. Love the color. Spotty lacing white ring. Taste is sour with mued berry peeking through. For the color the fruit quality is rather muted. But it’s delicious. jcartamdg (3516) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 9, 2014
Pours a bright purple with no head. Aroma of blackberry, funk, and sour wheat. Taste is tart, blackberry bomb, funk and sour wheat. This one is amazing!!!

375 ml bottle poured a clear reddish purple with a lingering ring of lavender foam. Aromas of straw, barnyard, blackberry and sour citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of sour citrus, blackberry and light straw with a crisp dry lingering tart citrus finish. brystmar (1314) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 4, 2014
Deep purple-maroon hue body; splotches of white foam scatter on the surface and attach themselves to my glass. Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - JAN 4, 2014
Funky, fruity aroma surprised me with its bold yeast presence. Dry, blankety, plenty of Brett, crushed blackberry essence. Smooth carb on the palate, juicy fruit, sourness is perfectly balanced. Excellent.
Pours a purple color with two fingers of fizzy pink foam. The nose is lots of earthy berry, barnyard hay and some musky oak. The palate follows with a nice blackberry seltzer backbone that gains complexity from the musty barrel and imparts a touch of round toasted vanilla nuance that rounds out the acidity a bit and complements the dusty barnyard grain. Tasty ! Steve_0 (3745) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 23, 2013
Bottle at the parentals, split with the Wife. Pour is a beautifully purplish-maroon color with very little head, if any. Funky, cheesy, slightly acidic, jammy, raspberries, blackberries, urine, somewhat horsey, and doughy aroma. Taste is sweet fruity, very tart, plummy, red grapes, oak, dark berries, bkueberries, green apples, and red wine vingear - though not overly acidic. Light body with medium carbonation. A very sour beer, that maintains balance from the sweetness of the fruit. Well done. merc7186 (3142) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - DEC 22, 2013
