UPDATED: DEC 7, 2013 Bottle generously shared by Alan, poured dark red with tiny bubbled head that wasn’t hanging around long. Aromas of smashed blackberry, dusty oak, bread, and barn. Flavor is lots of tart fruit: blackberry, peach, and grapes. Other notes of subtle wood and brett. Light to medium body. Another great brew from Crooked Stave. Tried again, really tart and minerally with a fuzzy sweatiness. Nice jcartamdg (3436) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 9, 2014

Finally! I'm am so psyched to try a stave of quality that once was. No diacetyl. And so good.
A - pours a beautiful blackberry juice purple blue with very little head. S - such a nice nose. Funky fruity sweet berries and bell pepper. Much like a de garde. Cheese, yogurt, nice yeast, Brett's. Rose petals and bell pepper. The nose may be the best from stave yet. M - tart and sweet. Watery mf, no carb and a limp body. T - the taste is so subtle and delicate, follow the nose but adds. nice funky cheesy fruity goodness. Bell pepper and blackberry jam lead the nose. Notes of lemon juice, powdered sugar, rose petals, dusty Brett's, and a note of prickly pear tuna and dragon fruit. O - maybe the second best stave our there (after persica b1) truly. The the lack of carb does take away a little, from an otherwise fantastic beer.

Pours a purple color with two fingers of fizzy pink foam. The nose is lots of earthy berry, barnyard hay and some musky oak. The palate follows with a nice blackberry seltzer backbone that gains complexity from the musty barrel and imparts a touch of round toasted vanilla nuance that rounds out the acidity a bit and complements the dusty barnyard grain. Tasty ! thomas15 (689) - Alabama, USA - JAN 31, 2014
Aroma is sour, lactic, and acidic with berry acidity. Looks beautiful dark purple. Love the color. Spotty lacing white ring. Taste is sour with mued berry peeking through. For the color the fruit quality is rather muted. But it’s delicious. jkwood04 (5448) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 22, 2014
