Kinda cool that i am the third rater - thanks Felipe! Pours hazy purple red, burgundyesque with a tiny off white head that neither sticks around nor laces well. Aroma is bretty, funk, barnyard. Fruity but not specifically blackberry, oak. Flavor is light plus tart, some initial sweetness with a dry finish. Light bodied. Interesting.

Purple pour with an off white head. Flavors of dusty yeast, berries, lemon peel, lacoto. Some yogurt flavors too. I think this one will do well with some age.

375ml bottle from my 2013 Crooked Stave Reserve Membership. Kudos to adnielsen as usual for the assists. Pours a deep blackberry crimson hue, purple with a decent haziness in the body. Cranberry juice splash with some reddish purplle glow on the edges and bottom. Loose bubbly offwhite head atop stays as a melllow filmy layer, dies down firmly with small lacing and stick around overall. Aromas show some firm sourness, lemony and bretty with yogurty cultures, dusty funk and tannic oak. Some blackberry juice and fruit, a bit pulpy and tart, some seedy elements are more mellow as the fruit doesn’t quite take off until you settle into. Blackberry skin and seedy elements. Tart, juicy, the funk comes in firmly, cobwebs and horseblanket, dust and oak. Initial is lighter end of the fold, some decent to middling tannic and seedy blackberry hit, tart and dry, a bit fuzzy as we start moving on. Farmhouse yeast meets dust and funk, a bit of straw, florals and earth. Gentle yogurt, the body is a bit flabby and undercarbonated but the blackberry element meets oak, the skin melding into a more tannic and dry experience as you round the corner. Some dust, cobwebs, and gentle sweaty element. Lingering fruit, yeast and funk, oak and firmer brett element, yogurt and dryness as we taper out and finish up. The house yeast seems a bit dominant here and the blackberry seems a bit underdone for my liking. It’s tart and sour at times, but really much more bretty overall, the body a touch flabby and undercarbed. Still it tastes quite nice just lacks some oomph, body, and carbonation which really might elevate this experience. Nose is good but not assertive. Front end more assertive and acidic at the end of the pour. Solid stuff overall.

Pour is dark pink with a bit of a haze to it and a light pink head. Nose has a lambic note to it, a bit of barnyard funk, slight metallic twang, strong raspberry fruit behind. Taste isn’t quite as barnyard or as bright. Strong brett presence that gets a little muddled and brett is strong. Still a hint of barnyard, some dusty brett with a moderate amount of blackberry. Lighter body, fairly sour with a slightly puckering finish.

Bottle thanks to Woodchopper on BA! Light purple pour, light blackberry nose with an average amount of carbonation. Flavor was pleasantly tart wood, hints of citrus and some barely noticeable blackberry. Decent beer.

Tasted on 10/27/13 from a waxed and capped 375mL bottle, big thanks to Curtis for sharing. Pours blood orange with no real head, but some thin, bubbly lace. The nose is strong, nutty brett funk with tart, fruity blackberry. The flavor is the same, really more focused on the brett with tart, sour blackberry, and a touch of lemon acidity. The body is medium, nice tannic structure, with very light carbonation and a long funky and sour blackberry finish.

Bottle share, thanks to Paul. Purple wax. Hazy reddy brown, small purpley foamy head. Aroma is sour, blackberry, a little red wine. Body is medium, soft carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is earthy raspberry, a little lemon citrus, background vinegar, dry finish.

Bottle shared in London to honour JackL’s departure. Thanks to Paul for this sour sauce. Pours hazy pink-purple with a fluffy white head. Funky berry aroma, with some lemony undertones. Light sweet flavor with strong berry tartness, lemon, some bitter berry skins, soft funk. Light in body with average carbonation. Clean and dry on the finish, with more berry skins, mellow mustiness, slight acidic bite. Very nice beer.

Bottles. Pours with a hazed, deep purple hued body with a small off-white head. Aromas are of funk first, damp leaves, shrubs, leathery, brett, lightly jammy and very dry blackberry. Fruity, mildly estery. Flavors are dry, lightly immature brett character (cheerios). Jammy, light wine barrel. Lively carbonation, medium bodied.
