COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Surreal spontaneous sour ale aged in oak barrels Spontaneously fermented in oak barrels, L'Brett d'Or's fermentation is kicked off with the help of the natural wild yeasts and bacteria residing around our coolship and native to our brewery. Since our spontaneous beers can only be brewed during the winter months, individual releases involve blending unique barrels to bring out the best of each brewing season. Characterized by funky citrus aromas, a crisp acidic bite, and a complex finish, L'Brett d'Or will continue to age with the best of them, gaining in complexity over the years.

Looks like sparkling white wine, with a cm of white head. Aroma is tart, with some muscatty notes. It’s pretty dry, and also tart, with mild brett into the finish. Not a particularly complex beer, but refreshing, even at 7%. $5/12oz

Bottle from Wilburs in Fort Collins. Pours clear gold with an attractive white head and a sourish aroma. There is a mildly sour fruity flavor with a nice yeast presence. Very subtle and easy to drink.

glennmastrange (2940) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - DEC 19, 2016
Bottle. Moderate hay and straw for the malt, moderate lemon and grass for the hops, heavy musty basement, horse, funk and earth for the yeast, with notes of soured white wine and crabapple. Head is average sized, frothy turning wispy, white, with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear gold. Flavor starts heavily acidic and sour, then finishes heavily acidic, sour and faintly bitter. Palate is light, watery with a lively carbonation and a very tart finish. A pretty good Sour Ale with a nice back of the jaw bite, but a little plain in flavor.
