Art (3217) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 6, 2014
Pours a murky purpley red with a think pinkish head. Aromas of lacto sourness mixed with light blueberry and horse manure, barnyard. Taste is sour lacto with a finish of blueberry aftertaste. Medium light body and medium high carb. Really enjoyed this one thoroughly. Better than 2013 Blabær.

Bottle pours with a light purple body that supports a white head of foam that has a pinkish hue to it. The aroma offers up tartness, mild blueberry like fruitiness and then more full up tartness and lemony citrus acidity. The taste starts with a brief flash of blueberry fruitiness and then heading into swiftly into tartness and acidic puckering flavors.

Bottle. Pours blueberry. Nose and taste of blueberry, oak, tart acid. Medium body.

brokensail (16486) - Dublin, California, USA - NOV 7, 2014
On tap @ Beachwood Brewing. Pours sort of a hazy reddish-purple color with a white head. Smells sort of like blueberry syrup/soda. A bit jammy. Lots of fruit skin, some musty funk, and sour fruit. Flavor is much less enjoyable. Sort of cheesy, dusty, and musty. Sort of a sawdust quality to it. Very tannic and sharp. Quite sour. Some fruit, but not obviously blueberry.

Waxed bottle. Strike 1. Oaked beer. Strike 2. One more strike and I’m pouring this fucker down the drain...
Pours a hazy red color with minimal head. Aromas of blueberry pie complete with oaky crusts and delicious filling. Taste is moderately tart and semi dry. Flavors of blueberry, oak, summer time homemade pie. Fuck, this is way better than I thought it was going to be. Nice lactic presence leading to a sort of blueberry yogurt taste. Very deep although not overly complex or funky. Just a straight up Fucken-A good sour. Like a blabær knockoff of some sorts but without the fecal taste. Fucken A, this is a solid beer.

thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 10, 2014
(375ml bottle) cloudy medium pink, fine white bubbles. Nose of sharp blueberries, nice tartness, fresh fruit, greens. Taste of tart blueberries, light funk and lacto/Pedio blend, excellent lightly tart finish. Nice beer.

Hazy ruby with a pink ring, lasting oily cap. Bright blueberry nose, moderate yogurt lactic quality, grassy lime notes ,light vegetal. Bright berry flavor, front is heavy yogurt and lightly metallic, high acid soft, mid is moderate bitterness, less acid, tons of co2, the brightness is huge through the citrus end, stinging carbonation is crisp, draws attention to the watery, moderate body, sticky with no arsenic, just tons of bright lactic sourness in the lingering, jowl-tingling finish, little ethanol in the end. Very nice from Crooked Stave.

Pour is a brighter purple with a pink head. Nose has a lot of fresh blueberries up front, citric note, a bit of yogurt, faint hay and leather and a bit pitty. Taste has a ton of blueberry up front, fairly bright and juicy, the yogurty lacto is very light, more of a sour lacto, a decent leathery touch towards the back. Light body, well carbonated, easy to drink, a touch oily.

Bottle @ home, shared with LeninCat. Slight gusher. Pours a slightly hazy, dark plum appearance with a dark pink head that dissipates pretty quickly. The aroma really reminds of Wild Wild Brett Indigo. Really a similar blueberry aroma. Kind of curious if they got the blueberries from the same region or if it’s just coincidental. Spritzy blueberry aroma with some horseblanket, leather, and lots of funk. Some floral notes as well. Nice mouth feel. Pretty puckering flavor. Moderate plus acidity. Quite a bit of fruit. Some residual sweetness which is kind of nice. There is a tannic / leather quality going on as well. Pretty complex. Drinks fine.
