On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016. A nice little red one, not much head on the top - perhaps a faint little sidesticking pink film. Smells like youd expect lots of fresh sour raspberries, some cherry. Wood for sure and a little bit of raspberry comopot. Really nice. Tastes really good. Soda sour and really sorrel infused. It has a good oily mouthfeel and its almost average on the carbonation. Rush of raspberries, its really on the sour side this. Green stalches and some sweet strawberries in the end. Lingering acidic. Sweet! 14.05.2016

(On tap @ CBC 2016 Red Session, Copenhagen) Pours deep brownish red with an off-white head. Aroma is jammy raspberry and a mix of other darker fruits like plum, blackberry, fairly sweet dark caramel, zippy lactic lemony notes underneath, wet wood, musty funk, a bit of basement. Flavour is a bit more tart than the jammy nose suggests, lots of raspberry, lemon zest, some of the jammy darker fruit still present though, relatively sweet, malty, oak, hint of funk. Finish is fairly dry, lightly tart, bitterness from raspberries and oak tannin, lingering jam. Light to medium bodied, light carbonation. Another nice dark sour from Crooked Stave, not super hefty but well balanced.

375ml bottle @ home. Pours a dark mostly opaque reddish purple with a small pinkish head. Nose is a nice light amount of raspberry jam. Flavour is tart, semi acidic, tasty sour raspberry jam. After drinking it a bit more I think the acidity might be a touch high, but otherwise this is a great example of raspberry sour.

Nice deep brown with tiny, light brown head. Aroma is mostly raspberries along with mild sourness. Also citrus, funky, fruity, tart and acetic. Some peachy notes in the background. Watery to oily texture, soft carbonation, finish is long and tart. Good and interesting brew. A little bit extraordinary.

2017-04-20. Lightly hazy dark brown body modest creamy beige head. 3++ Aroma has big fruity Raspberry character with a familiar sweet raspberry seed/cordial undertone. Moderate funk. Flavour is bracingly sour and acidic on first sip, but pleasantly so. Raspberry comes across as more tart than in the aroma because of the acidity. Mild dark malt base is similarly dominated by the acidity but adds depth. Smooth average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Intense but lovely, not sure I want a huge glass of it though. 8+/4/8-9/3/17 Bottled at Birreria Volo, Toronto.

Pours deep burgundy red with a modest offwhite head which recedes to a bubbly layer. Aroma is raspberry jam, cherries, fresh wet timber. Taste is full on sweet raspberry jam, under ripe raspberry tartness, cranberry tart, hint of cherry sweetness, oaky.

On tap at the source over summer. Dang this was god. Raspberry, vanilla, oak, some barnyard funk, and great tart kick. Delicate and complex. Mildly sweet sour. Yum.

A 375ml bottle, bottled in November 2015. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass. It was a clear and extremely dark red colour with a two fingered tan-ish red head that had decent retention and left some nice lacing. Aromas of intense freshly crushed raspberries and raspberry jam. Tastes sour and tart with a combination of mixed berries; raspberry, blackberry and blueberry. It is also very jammy but the sweet only lightly shows through the tartness. Dry, medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, this is amazing. I dont get any of the 9% ABV which is great, but Im also not getting much of the oak barrels that it was supposedly aged in, which while disappointing, actually meant that it was very raspberry jammy and tasty. Crooked Stave have done it again with Silly Cybies, which is a must buy for me.

Sample from bottle at Bobs Bar during the "Crooked Stave Hits Ohio!!!" event on 02/13/2017. Clear dark ruby color with a medium pinkish-white head that burns away steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tart berries, yeast and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of sour raspberry, currants, oak, yeast and doughy malt. The finish is tart with a lingering raspberry aftertaste. Good beer all around.
