St. Bretta is our 100% Brettanomyces Whitebier that was just released this week! Not only is St. Bretta an evolution of Wild Wild Brett Orange, but also it will be ever-changing depending on the fresh citrus available that season. For our spring release we decided to brew St. Bretta with fresh Minneola Tangelo. Each seasonal release of St. Bretta will have a diverse range of citrus fruit added to keep the beer fresh and exciting (the summer release was brewed with blood oranges)!

Thanks to Allen for the share on this one. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is some sweet citrus, some earthy brett, some pineapple, and some burlap with lingering citrus. Flavor is similar with earthy brett, barnyard, some sweet citrus, and some lingering sweetness on the finish. Light to medium in body and a nice wild overall.

Bottle thanks to Armin, pours a hazy gold with a thin head, aroma has touches of citrus and barnyard at the same time, a little bit of funk mixed in as well, the flavor is really tart on the front end with some brett and yeast in the finish, a little bit of must and dirt as well, the citrus comes through as well with the fruit, really nice, I need to track down the summer in a few months.

(This is summer, barcode got it wrong)Hazy off golden color with tiny white lacing. Lemon sour nose with funky wheat, brett. Taste starts with lemon at the back which opens up all around your mouth in to a nice dry tartness, also on top of that there is earth, funk, grapefruit, citric acid. Finishes dry and tart, refreshing. Beautiful, I want more!

Bottle 375ml. Pours hazy blond with low white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus, belgian yeast, wheat, bretts. Taste is of citrus, acidity, oxydation?, fruits, bretts, wheat. Bitter finish. Palate: Light body. Watery texture. Overall: Watery. Somewhat "dry" (acidity+bretts). Sligthly harsh for a "witbier".

Bottle (375 ml). Thanks to Mark for this one! Slightly hazy yellow golden with a medium persistent white head and good lacing. Aroma is lemony (and other citrus) with brettanomyces, cheesy notes, wheat, light spices and light bitterness in the finish. Taste is also lemony with acidity from the wheat, brettanomyces and light spices. Light body, watery. Low carbonation. Dry mouthfeel. Its a borderline Witbier/Sour, but its a good beer. Very dry. Super drinkable, quite refreshing and tasty.

On tap at the taproom. Pours a pale hazed yellow with a white head. Aroma of funk, citrus, mild spice. Nice brett and mild tart notes in the nose as well. Flavor is funky, dry, with some mild sweet citrus juice and spicing. Somewhat slick bodied, with spritzy carbonation. Finishes funky, with earth and spice notes. Interesting, pretty fun too.

I assume this is 2013 version, but not 100% certain. Pours a light lemon ale wit a interesting pattern of white sheet atop - takes on a cheetah look with near concentric circles of break in the foam. Smells of manure, funk, soil, clay, hay, and some paper. Flavor is lemon, soil, tart, some of that minneola is coming through, some wit yeast and some light wheat character. Im refreshingly surprised with the flavor here. Very light bodied with light prickly carb and an off dry finish. Fucking interesting beer. I know Brett isnt supposed to form much acidity, and maybe its from the fruit, but damn this is refreshingly tart. A really excellent beer I was hoping would be only moderately tasty for the sake of my billfold. Great beer.
