Pour from a bottle is a nice cloudy golden amber with a small white head. Aroma is a little sour but has a few hints of fruit. Taste is nice and sour with a little citrus zing that leaves a dry after taste. curepute (141) - New York, USA - NOV 26, 2013
(This is summer, barcode got it wrong)Hazy off golden color with tiny white lacing. Lemon sour nose with funky wheat, brett. Taste starts with lemon at the back which opens up all around your mouth in to a nice dry tartness, also on top of that there is earth, funk, grapefruit, citric acid. Finishes dry and tart, refreshing. Beautiful, I want more! onceblind (9859) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 23, 2014
Hazy rustic golden with a thin white cap. The nose is absolutely lovely with notes of lilac and floral hibiscus with a funky Brett yeast note and orange peel. Tangy flavor with funky Brett and orange zest with the tiniest bit of lime as well..also some earthy floral tones on the finish but it’s predominately sour citrus rind and a wee touch of clove and fresh white oak. Lightly tart with a good earthy dry Bretty flavor. skortila (5905) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - JUL 30, 2016
On tap @ Beertemple. Small sample. The aroma has citrus, funk, flowers. Light hazy, yellow coloured beer with a thin, white head. The taste is light sour and has citrus fruits, funk, dust and is greatly refreshing and balanced. Well done! jredmond (8333) - New York, New York, USA - AUG 26, 2013
Bottle shared with Pat before some ramen at Ippudo, in HK NYC. Pours a lovely hazed yellow body with nice vibrant white head and lacing. Aroma is super tart lemons, barnyard funk and a crisp grassy character. Nearly perfectly balanced. Mouthfeel is dry and sour with notes of tart lemons, sour wheat, salt, lime and light tart citrus fruits. Overall, an incredibly balanced sour saison that could serve as a session beer as well.

Bottle shared by Fonefan at his place. Opaque murky pale yellow color, small to medium sized white head. Aroma is very nice and balanced, I get wheat, brett, fruitpeel, orangepeel, citrus, grapes, a bit winey. Taste is fresh, balanced, very nice. Again brett, winey, grapes, citrus, orangepeel. Fantastic beer. DoublEE (782) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - SEP 12, 2013
Mouth-puckeringly sour, as you would expect. Lacto sourness dominates, propped up by a solid wheat malt background. Citrus fruit is prominent - especially the tangerine as expected. Slightly too tart for my taste. There is a funkiness to this brew, although I would call this beer more fruit-forward than funky-forward. Mouthfeel is EXCELLENT - it’s not dry and backbone-less like some sour beers are. The wheat malt really lingers on the tongue. Just lovely. Tap at the source. Pours hazy straw with white head that lasts and laces. Smells of tangerine/tangelo, funk, and some bready notes. Drinks with a moderate tart bite and no lingering bitterness. Light bodied. Tastes of tart tangelo, white grape, and slight wheat flavors. Dry, tart finish. MacBoost (1914) - Victor, New York, USA - APR 26, 2014
375ml bottle from some jerkoff in Colorado aka legal weed central. Fucken stoners. Pours a very light pinkish orange with almost no head. A ring clings to the glass, but that’s it. Aromas of primordial soup, RNA, single celled organisms. Funky. Oaky. Dirty. Some citrus and Soma in there as well. Taste is slightly acidic but muted by the low carbonation. Just off dry. Flavors of very watered down orange juice, Tang, school lunch boxes. Punchy without being sugary. Finishes with a fine francophone cock in your ass as you squeal like the guy on Deliverance. But it’s not too bad because you take bigger shits than the diameter of his cock. This is good fucken beer. caesar (7165) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - JUL 26, 2016
DID I MENTION IT HAS A TANGELO FINSH, FFS?
Tap @ Beer Temple, small sample, Putting it under this entry, as the beer arrived early June, so I’m guessing it’s the Spring version (and is now confirmed by BeerTemple). Will relocate when necessary. Hazy pale yellow color, medium frothy head. Aroma of citrus, funk, grainy wheat, bit white wine almost. Soft sourness in taste, bit sweet as well. All perfectly balanced and utterly refreshing as all the Crooked Staves I have had so far. Really great stuff once again.
