Reallllllllly heavy bretty funk, subjugating almost all else within its realm. And that is awesome, because what little else remains is a nice juicy citrus character. Excellent stuff, left me impressed by Crooked Stave.

Smell is flabbergasting complex. Massive Brett with citrus. Taste is very light-footed with citric components coming back and the Brett in your face. Palate is maybe a bit too thin.
UPDATED: AUG 13, 2017 On tap at Garage Project Wild Workshop. Farmyard, lemon, orange, funk. Nice refreshing body. Decent. coachd (972) - Missouri, USA - JUN 28, 2017
Funky tart citrus aroma. I can smell the blood oranges. See through yellow color. Surprisingly light and drinkable; the sour and funk does not show through much in the taste. I guess that's why it's the summer version. Palate a bit watery and lacking carbonation. I don't know what I'm missing but I just can't get into crooked stave. I'm trying.

September 19, 2015 - at Beaverton for the Rainbow event - draught. Very hazy yellow with a huge lasting fluffy white head. Aroma of pear, light brett and floral bitterness. Taste - even MORE brett - fantastic, if a bit raw. Good body, fruit in the finish, which is quick, brett fades pretty quickly. Nice one.

UPDATED: JUN 14, 2017 Draft at Mellow. Pours a clear light gold with a pillowy, white head. Light orange and lemon on the nose. Faint granola. Clean with creamy mouthfeel. Orange, nutmeg. Dryish finish. Nice. GarrettB (1696) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 27, 2016
September 14th, 2014 - Crooked Stave tastings are a special event, but this one comes courtesy of Perry’s Pizzeria, which has the Bretta Sour on tap. Orthodoxy declares that pizza can only be paired with a light lager, or maybe an IPA, but I wanted to test whether a sour might go nicely with the herbaceous pies being flung around here. The color is a practically iridescent blonde color, and fills the nearby atmosphere with a brettanomyces style aroma with hay (as I write this, tis the season of hay bales and hay rides), banana and a freshness that belongs to a barnyard. The beer delivers its flavors at a low hum, sour and tangy, with some pear on a thinner, more quenching palate. In many ways this tastes a great deal like a Berliner Weisse, but with more funk and acidity, but whatever category or hybridization of categories it falls under, this is good drinking - and pairs well with the pizza. On draft at The Sovereign. Pours a hazy gold with a massive off white head that slowly withdrew leaving lots of lacing. Lemon aroma. Flavors of chamomile and citrus. Bitter finish. Kavu (5256) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 20, 2016
0,15l on tap @ BeerTemple. Pours cloudy yellow with a high creamy head. Aroma is tarty malts, citrus and some soap. Flavor is fruity tarty malts with some citrus. Very nice indeed. drpimento (3815) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 1, 2016
Kind of a lambic, citrus, tea aroma. Citrus shows up more in the flavor which also has a nice clean tartness.. Good finish.
