Pours a hazy golden color with a very white head. Smell is farmhouse like with a nice malt base, fruit, some citrus but with a hint of wood and lambic as well. Taste is very subtle flavors...wood, citrus, apricot ending puckeringly dry and woody. The body is light but slick with effervescent carbonation. A real treat.

Bottle bought @ biere-revolution.com. Pours hazy vibrant orange with a frothy white head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sour and funky with wheat crackers, lemon juice, yuzu juice, gooseberries, passion fruit, hay, dry soil, grapes, white wine vinegar, moist wood and barnyard. Taste is sour and slightly funky with wheat crackers, lemon juice, lime juice, hay, dry soil, gooseberries, passion fruit, pineapple juice, sour milk, white grapes, moist wood, leather and barnyard. Mouthfeel is soft, dry, tart and light bodied. Finish is sour and tiny funky with wheat crackers, lemon juice, lime juice, yuzu juice, sour milk, hay, dry soil, unripe pineapple, gooseberries, white grapes and lemon zest. Elegant, complex, juicy, refreshing and very tasty.

Pours hazy golden with a thin head that disappears completely. Aroma is burlap, funk, sharp cheese, dust, band-aid. Flavor is funk, lemon, burlap, big sour lemon, sharp cheddar, cellar/must/mold, and a grassy finish. Very nice.

Wish lister. Cloudy orange. musty aroma. With extended oak aging critters and all, this really blurs the line between a Saison/farmhouse ale/wild ale. Heavy oak present in the aroma and especially flavor. Full flavored and bodied for 6% beer. Tart and fruity, with a dry peppery finish. I like this very much. 4.25 if I could.

375 ml bottle, 2013 Vintage, Batch 8. Served in a Prairie Teku glass, the beer pours a hazy golden/orange color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good enough. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like citrus peel, bready/grainy malt, oak, hay, green grapes, and some pear. I think the taste pretty much follows the aroma, but there’s also some tropical fruit and funky/mustiness noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s easy to drink and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It’s a good tart, fruity and funky brew! I’ve enjoyed the few Crooked Stave brews I’ve had a chance to try so far, and I’ll have to make a point to try more in the future! $8.99 a bottle.

Poured from a bottle, hazy orange color with little head. Not bubbly. Nose is earthy, saison funk. Taste is lemon, tart, sour, but medium bodied. I think the aging in the oak barrel comes out at the end as it mellows out. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I love this style of beer so my mark is biased. This guy is amazing with yeast - if you like saison and barrel ageing you’ll love this. ’Cideresk’ be it.
