(375ml bottle) clear gold, soapy white bubbles. Nose of peach, barrel, sour, tart fruit, apricot, mossy cellar floor and a touch of whiskey. Taste of tart peach, light barrel, whiskey, light spirits, excellent carbonation and palate linger. Steve_0 (3818) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 31, 2014
Bottle at home with the wife. Pour is clear golden orange with a small head that quickly dissipated. Tangy, green apple, light spice, lemony, slightly funky and Peary aroma. Taste is caramel apple, light cinnamon, lemons, some oak, urine, and pears with a semi-sour sweet finish. Light body with crisp carbonation. Tasty, but somewhat one-dimensional. djd07 (16289) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUL 17, 2014
Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a cloudy orange with small frothy white head. The aroma is peach, oak, funk. Thin mouthfeel with light peach, funk, oak, and light sourness. Good ineedbeer (2296) - Oakland, California, USA - JUN 24, 2014
375 ml bottle.
Aroma has a moderate barrel character with noticeable whiskey and fruit. Moderately strong overripe stone fruit character with hints of red apple and citrus. Moderate spicy phenolic notes of grains of paradise and pink peppercorn. Light malt notes of lightly toasted bread hiding in the background.
Pours a cloudy, orange-brown with a somewhat small, fairly thin, white head that displays average retention as it recedes to the edges where it lingers.
Flavor has a light acidity with quite a bit of fruitiness. Lots of overripe stone fruit, apples and pears with hints of citrus and pineapple. Light oak and whiskey notes, not as prevalent as in the aroma. Faint, lightly toasted bread and crackers. Medium notes of grains of paradise and lighter notes of pink and white peppercorns. Medium low bitterness with a touch of alcohol in the finish. Overripe pears, stone fruit and citrus linger in the finish.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a pretty nice beer. The barrel adds some nice fruit character with a lot of overripe stone fruit along with some light oak and whiskey notes; the stone fruit really compliments the farmhouse yeast notes. Medium light phenolics and bitterness balances out the fruit notes. Light acidity and alcohol adds complexity. jkwood04 (5472) - Connecticut, USA - JUN 12, 2014
375ml bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of sourness, whiskey and oak, the pale and light malts, some fruits, and some light floral notes. Flavor the same with nice blend of Surette and the oak and whiskey. Average texture. A really cool beer.

Sample at Kurtkeller 011: Crooked Stave-tastic 01 on 05/02/2014. Clear orange-gold color with a medium white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of peaches and tangerines, with a touch of funk and oak. Medium-bodied with flavors of raw peaches, oak, funky citrus and bourbon. The finish is fruity with an oak and peach aftertaste. Pretty good overall. brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - MAY 4, 2014
Bottle @ 10K + OT. Thanks, Jake. Clear golden pour with a finger of white foam. Nose is tart lemon juice and underripe peach. Green grapes, oak, and a slight damp funkiness. Really nice and bright acidity to the taste. Plenty of green grapes, lemon, and peach. Sour stone fruit, oak, and a dry, leather note. A touch of mineral oil. Solid. >> Thanks Jake for the share. Pours full haze golden with medium white foam. Nose is excellent house CS funk, juicy nectarine, sweet rolls, dough. Taste is spicy fruit leather, saltwater, nectarine juice. Bright lemon and salty peach. Delish.
375ml bottle pours hazy golden orange with a finger of head.
Nose is musty peach, apricot, funk, oak, subtle tartness. Taste is juciy peach liquor, citrus, almond shavings, damp woody funk, basement. Finish is smooth fruity peach, round mildy boozy mouthfeel, touches of grain, not a lot of tartness. jrob21 (3874) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - APR 10, 2014
Bottle shared at westmeister’s. Peach aromas and flavors. Whiskey and wood sneak through to the palate as well. These flavors are confilcting somewhat and the bitter peach does not meld too well with the smooth whiskey. Points for uniqueness but the end result didn’t quite come together for me perfectly.
