Hazy apricot colored pour. White head. Tart peaches, sweet oak, light booze, a hint of apples and grapes. Good beer! ineedbeer (2302) - Oakland, California, USA - JUN 24, 2014
375 ml bottle.
Aroma has a moderate barrel character with noticeable whiskey and fruit. Moderately strong overripe stone fruit character with hints of red apple and citrus. Moderate spicy phenolic notes of grains of paradise and pink peppercorn. Light malt notes of lightly toasted bread hiding in the background.
Pours a cloudy, orange-brown with a somewhat small, fairly thin, white head that displays average retention as it recedes to the edges where it lingers.
Flavor has a light acidity with quite a bit of fruitiness. Lots of overripe stone fruit, apples and pears with hints of citrus and pineapple. Light oak and whiskey notes, not as prevalent as in the aroma. Faint, lightly toasted bread and crackers. Medium notes of grains of paradise and lighter notes of pink and white peppercorns. Medium low bitterness with a touch of alcohol in the finish. Overripe pears, stone fruit and citrus linger in the finish.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a pretty nice beer. The barrel adds some nice fruit character with a lot of overripe stone fruit along with some light oak and whiskey notes; the stone fruit really compliments the farmhouse yeast notes. Medium light phenolics and bitterness balances out the fruit notes. Light acidity and alcohol adds complexity. daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - AUG 2, 2013

in CO adnielsen ! Pours a deep rich golden color with a finger of white foam. Nose is fruity booze, old wood and funk. The palate is round and chewy with nice balance between fruit sweetness, with touches of peach apricot mixed with boozy whiskey heat, tart vinous notes and a round toasted vanilla background. Dries out nicely in the finish with a lingering dusty basement funk.
From the bottle. Bright off orange color, cream colored head. Decent lacing. Aroma is light whiskey and peaches. Taste is tart peaches with a sour bite and some minor booziness. Pretty damn tasty. Experiment_Ale (1098) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 21, 2013

Light unclear medium orange yellow colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, tart, fruity, pale malt, peach, funky, wine, wood, alcohol - whisky. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate acidic with a long duration, tart, peach, manure, brett, whisky, wood, warm, spicy - peppery. Wow this is nice ;D. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft - fizzy, finish feel is light alcoholic.
