Vieille meaning Old is our artisinal barrel-aged Saison, lightly dry hopped. Each batch release is a diverse blend of Vieille casks that have taken on a soft Brettanomyces character before being lightly dry hopped. Dominated by a floral, citrusy hop character, a subtle herbal note and a tart finish, Vieilles character exemplifies artisan Saisons.

Stunning looking body, light misty and glowing yellow golden, light a spring time sun. Stable head too. Appealing nose: very summery fresh aroma with fresh flowers, lemon, citra, even fennel seeds. Taste is fresh and crisp too, certainly with a solid amount of acidity like lemon juice. Very bretty! Dry enough ending. If anything it misses a tat bit of yeast character, but I am very pleased with this drinkable saison. And a body like this at only 4% abv... hell yes! (Bottle from Beer City)

Pours golden yellow with a tiny white head. This beer is up front refreshing from the beginning. Bringing you some apple notes, sweet citrus fruits, pears and some goose berries. You can smell the tartness and the kinda rural character in the aroma as well. Very balanced and complex aroma. Taste has some nice notes of green apples, pears, goose berries and some citrus fruits. I also get the more rural and stable notes. Quite tart and you can also feel the oak aging, making the beer dry and woody. Almost feels like a gueuze sometimes. Completely enjoyed this beer!

Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma has lots of fresh fruits like apples. Slight hoppy. Pretty sour and lots of brett. Taste is surprisingly sour with unripe berries to it, like gooseberries. Slightly wooden, but actually not that much oak.. A little cheese, and some nice citrus. Overall great balance and quite a lot of power for the low ABV.

On tap at The Source. Pours a cloudy yellow with frothy white head that leaves sticky lacing. The aroma is strong citra and yeast. Thin mouthfeel with citrus hop and lingering dry finish. Very good.

37,5 cl bottle @ home
Aroma is rather nice and refreshing with funky yeasty tones, some citrus, green apples and hints of white wine. Flavour has bretta, white wine notes, some cirtrus, urinal cake and floury tones. Feels slightly watery. Aroma was rather nice but flavour was a bit disappointing after that. Not bad for 4,2% still.

375ml bottle from Bierkompass

Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma of wood, oak, earthy leather notes, bretta, fruits and spicy yeastiness. Taste is tartish, fruity and woody with notes of bretta, leathery yeastiness and oak. Finish is watery, woody and slightly fruity with some tartish and earthy notes. Okay, quite funky and woody saison.

Gold and hazy with a thin white head. Smells dry, funky, grassy, tarte. Tastes lightly acidic, light mouthfeel. Dry finish. good nose, too dry and lacking on the flavor profile.

Bottle: Served in a taster: Medium sized white foamy head on top of a hazy yellow colored beer. Aromas of citrus, lemon, berries/grapes, yeast, oak, light brett, light saison yeast, some flowers... Nice aroma. Balanced and crispy. Flavours of lemon, tart, berries, yeast, light oaky, flowers, light peach, some grapes, light bitter, some light herbal more floral tones, hint of wheat... Overall a crispy Saison! Very nice! Aftertaste is bitter, malty, tart and some berries/grapes with a yeasty sprinkle. Low carbo, creamy light tart mouthfeel, good more than medium bodied and a light creamy light watery texture. Very nice! Close to what I think smelled and tasted the original Saison like. Nice!
